Its SUUUUUCH an improvement for KBS visually
You think? I always thought they made good looking shafts. I like the Protos and TDs. Quality/Feel wise it’s definitely a step above their other shafts

Absolutely think so. IMO the all the others have been very bland. This, looks like it belongs.

All I know is the way I was hitting it the other day has me very excited to get out again

I think it absolutely fills a void in their lineup, it’s extremely playable for those that seek some solid launch

The launch has really impressed me. I don’t hit many low shots. The height it gets is very nice to see. It’s also nice that it gets that without ballooning. It has performed so well in the wind for me

I really like the way this shaft looks at address, but the feel when i just set up down the right center and i just know its going to go there with a little draw. I have not put a shaft in the driver and just had it do what i want from the start in so long, just fun to hit this one
Even with my swing flaws, I enjoy the confidence with this shaft, too. After a lesson and working on set up and positioning, I am seeing a more consistent shape of a gentle draw; maybe be it starts right, maybe straight along my aim point, but it’s better.

I don’t feel the added flex (odd that an xs shaft flexes this much) much, but it’s a tempo thing, and the extreme version that @Jman is using seems to confirm this.

Todays round was rough, but excluding the pop ups after getting way too steep (pop fly’s to the center fairway) I saw similar flight and was happy to have a ‘consistent miss’ that saw no lost balls off the tee. Have not had drives that stayed true with many set ups.

Feel and flow doesn't mean that its flexing more, could just be the case of a profile that you can really load based upon your move, so it seems more active in the swing.

After 5 or 6 rounds of bliss I had another tough day with the driver today. Frankly it was a tough day with everything. After not playing for a month because of a bad back playing my third day in a row apparently wasn’t a great idea. I only hit 6 fairways today. I was just whipping my arms back and not turning. When I slowed things down and made a good turn I still hit some good drives. I can’t blame anything about today on the shaft it was totally my swing and my body.

I am going to get back to stretching, mobility and some strength stuff now that my back has quieted down a bit. Hopefully that will help me be a bit more consistent.

Golf is hard enough without being hurt and coming back from that, you got this. Bad days will happen.

What'd you think of the feel?

What kind of flight are you seeing?

That is an interesting question. When I first put it in it was launching low and not spinning. I actually added 1.5* of loft to my driver so it is 12* now. I would say I am getting a mid to mid+ flight from a height perspective. I hit about 10 balls in the simulator yesterday to check the spin and it is spinning in the 2200-2700 range so for my clubhead speed which was only 88-90 yesterday seems like a decent number. I don’t recall the launch angle numbers.

I moved the loft back to 10.5* for a few balls and the spin dropped to about 1800 and carry dropped as well.

mine is a 10.5 set to 11 and i am mid on most of my drives, i can flight it lower when i want to get the roll out when it needed.

Sooo smooth swing mindset helped me today. I was in the short stuff way more often than not. However if I got quick it was lefty left...

I found that stiffening the grip to strong has helped and had some draws but still mostly a fade on this driver.

Booming height and distance though probably because it's airborne vs. that piercing flight. Mildly frustrating with the lefts here but with smooth swing it's definitely less wippy and head is better connected ... A lot more center strikes which is a move in the right direction.

I know it doesn't matter much (maybe a little) but the color graphics are soooo premium and looks great.
I agree the shaft looks great!!! Huge step up from their previous wood offerings

Sounds like that extra loft puts you in a great window

Went to the range a few days ago and had a really good session. I was actually hitting tight draws that were carrying around 250y. Everything was starting on line. Not really sure what changed but it did feel like I was finally swinging a little smoother. It was also the best the shaft had ever felt. Sound was good and the feel was a little mute but also just right. Also didn’t feel like the balls we’re tumbling.

If I can maintain this swing, this shaft will easily turn into my regular gamer.

Funny enough, when I switched back to the TD, I lost control of the golf ball. Contact was solid and feel was good but I had a wicked slice going. Funny how tempo can have such a big impact.
I focused on slowing my take away over the weekend and it made a big difference. I also lowered the loft to open up the club face and saw some much better flights. I still would not say I have a lot of confidence with this but it has been the best performance I've seen to date

I played a sim round and would alternate between this in a qi35 vs tpt nitro in wilson carbon. The Qi35/PGW combo gave me the longest drive of the day

It definitely seems to make a difference. At times it might be a bit higher than I would like but that is because I play on a windy golf course. For traditional fitting it is right in the window.

Those numbers seem solid! I had the same issue on the beginning but I think it was more about me getting used to the shaft and out of my winter swing

Slowing the takeaway helped my driving in general. I did it a while back but it does seems to work for the PGW. Hoping I can play this weekend because last week I had my best range session yet

Tempo is king! much slower with the take away yesterday and had better results. Most shots went easily up in the air, though the low drives are still there (caused by me position, not the shaft.).

Better dispersion and more consistent shot shape (draw) off the tee. I think the slower, controlled swing is easier to keep in position, and I have no problem gaining sped on the down stroke with this shaft. I like the feel, though I can't say I 'feel' much when I am swinging; the shaft's weight feels more like an extension of my arms and I am swinging the driver head on a chain down and through the ball, rather than forcing a metal rod like past shafts I have been fit into.

Reading my past comments and other's replies, my assessment of this shaft being very flexible was off. It is more flexible than the 1K black, but it is not so bendy that it gets out of control and produces shots all over the place. Yesterday's dispersion was good. I did send a few left when I didn't make my turn, but the easy swings produced the same shot when I made my turn. Happy to see this consistency again.

I see a difference between my old driver shaft and one driver previous (both were stiff and of the Tensei family) so I cannot match this shaft to any other that I have gamed before, but this does open my eyes to other possibilities when I am looking for a new set up down the road. I won't dismiss something that looks to flex more than what I am used to.

2200-2700 is perfection

It is interesting on the slow takeaway because it helps me as well. I find if I get quick I get out of control and struggle to make good contact. I read a lot about to hit it farther speed up your takeaway but I can’t get that to work for me. I almost try to think about Sungjae IM’s swing.

It’s one of those things where you’re actually making better contact so it goes farther than a faster takeaway with poor contact. Tempo is a very evident factor in having success with this shaft, as is the case for most

This is the part im struggling with. My swing is very quick tempo and bc of that I fit in to stiffer shafts to keep up with my takeaway and quick transition up top. When I'm thinking of actively slowing my takeaway I make a better swing......with this shaft. I dont want to have different swing thoughts/mechanics while on the course. Really dont want any thoughts at all. Just go out there and swing my normal swing

limited time yesterday but saw good results. I still struggle with the timing and loading of the shaft but opening the face on driver has made this combo much more playable.

I know it is all about timing and each individuals swing but this is a great example of a "high launching" shaft not being high launching. It is very active in the midsection which should help with launch. But bc I'm closing the face shut so quickly I'm routinely seeing launch around 10-11 and spin at 2000.

Over the past month some of my best drives have been with this shaft....but also all of my worst

For a smooth swinger this would be an incredible shaft

I think it absolutely fills a void in their lineup, it’s extremely playable for those that seek some solid launch

Thoughts on PGW in a fairway?
