Come one, come all(well, 15 of you), and join me in lovely, historic, pine/magnolia/oak laden Valdosta, GA for a weekend of what will probably end up being mediocre to poor golf on an exquisite DLIII design. Kinderlou Forest might well be the definition of hidden gem. Former host to the South Georgia Classic on what is now the Korn Ferry Tour, and hosting multiple stages of KFT Q-school for the past several years. Tipping out at 7,781 yards, Kinderlou can provide a substantial test to anyone daring to play that far back. Five other sets of tees allow for surprising playability for golfers of every level. Accommodations on site are two very nice 4BR/3.5BA condos situated near the 5th green. Each bedroom has two queen beds. Food is typically handled off site for breakfast, but there is a kitchen for anyone who brings their own food. For the last few years lunch and/or dinner has usually been enjoyed at the clubhouse. Now that the course is fully private, we are being limited to 4 tee times.

October 16-18, 2026 - arrive Friday night, leave after golf Sunday
18 holes Saturday, 18 holes Sunday
Double occupancy, two queen beds per bedroom
Probably at least one gas station cake
Price $350

More than 10 years ago, the Gethering started as a GA/FL grudge match amongst THPers who liked nothing more than playing golf with other THPers. Some familiar names and faces have come and gone, but Kinderlou remains the same and invites us to enjoy what it has to offer every fall: A stunning and challenging golf course, fine lodging and an enjoyable atmosphere. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. Post in this thread or PM me to let me know if you're going, tentative, interested or jealous.

I'm in. Can't wait.

I already have my vacation scheduled and some new shirts purchased.

Oh you know it!!! I'm in! Marked on my calendar!!!

I will say I am in for now. I don't have the fall soccer schedule yet, but with only one kid playing it shouldn't be an issue.

who’s joining me from the tips again?

Count me in! I may have laughed at the picture. Says Shifty's creek  Me and that creek have history!!!

And I just booked my flights to Charleston so @JW Smoove is in as well because he's the driver this year.

100% in - unless I am dead or otherwise incapacitated.

I don't have the dates yet for the annual Florida vacation, but this looks like it should slot in halfway through.

Put me down as a serious likely and once things are finalized I can confirm.

Seriously doubt I could join this one with the moving further away. I could probably catch a flight to ATL and hitch a ride or something, but I won't have much PTO time left this year, either, so probably not. Will follow along and be jealous (again).

I told my wife we couldn't meet up with her family for an LSU football game around that time because it would be too expensive. Think she will be okay with me going on a golf trip instead?

Man, I’m having shoulder surgery this week…I should be back golfing by October…do I chance it?

You know I'm in. I'll even start playing golf again to get ready.
