I’ve never tried the Kirkland, but I hear great things. For those of you who have compared what do you think? Also, what other premium spinning ball but at a lesser cost and the pro V one would you suggest?

To me the Kirkland seems short and spinny off the driver.

Kirklands are pretty much the best deal there is for urethane golf balls. The current version performs very well for me when I play it alongside a TP5 (my usual ball). Unless you hit dozens of shots on a high end launch monitor you probably can’t see a real difference between a Kirkland and something else.

MaxFli Tour is also a great golf ball, all things considered.

Eh. This is casting a pretty wide net.

Kirk Lands are way too spinny off the driver for me & are considerably shorter as well. But they are a great price, so every one & their mother that shops at Costco buys them, so I find a multitude of them probably every time I play. They become a shag/woods ball (y)

No comparison. Apples and oranges

While Jman's reply is probably on target I plan to give the Kirkland ball a try. I respect that the major brands spend a ton on R&D and bring real innovation to the game. I am not good enough to need the best. I am open to a deal if there is quality there.

Good comparison here.

The original Kirklands were definitely higher spinning and I could see that on the course compared to other balls (wedges spinning back instead of stopping next to their pitch mark, irons ballooning a bit, etc.). I’ve hit the v3 on a gcquad along with several other premium balls and there wasn’t anything that stood out compared to them. I’m about a 2 handicap with pretty neutral delivery but I know everyone’s swings are different. To me it seems like quality of strike, ground conditions, wind, etc. play such a large role that most balls in the same category are going to end up giving you the same scores in the end.

Good comparison here.

That video is not the current version of the Kirkland FYI. I think some stores do still have that one in stock but the v3 is pretty different.

Don't play the Kirklands in the wind unless you like seeing your ball fly like a kite.

I'm a big mark for the Vice Pro. I put it through hundreds of swings on the trackman last year and it performed very similar to the pro V1 for me in terms of launch, spin etc.

Feel is a little different , its got kind of a lumpier, thud like feel with irons. Kind of like the older TP5s did.

If you buy 5 boxes you get them for like 30$ a box

Most of the reviews and comments I've seen about too much spin are referring to the previous version. The latest, V3, gets excellent reviews in comparison and most feel it addressed the spin issue.

The problem with Kirkland to me is that they have changed their supplier several times so what you like now may change in the future. Another site just did a comparison also and it was by far the spiniest ball in the test. Spinny to the point of causing ballooning and making it the shortest (by quite a bit) ball they tested.

Mgs just came out with their latest ball report. KSig3 was still very high spin. Maxfli Tours came out great.

Enough spin on irons it forces me to club up (e.g. pull 8 instead of 9).
Can definitely tell a difference without need of a LM.

I haven't played the V3 but the previous gen was shorter and spinnier off the driver than the ProV1. It was good into greens thanks to the high spin but again maybe a half a club shorter than ProV1

But did they cut one in half??? :ROFLMAO:

I'd say q star tour is the best budget urethane ball

ERC Soft is another consideration. They're in the same neighborhood ($5 more) and can give the QST a run for the money.

Another to consider that has performed very well compared to the Titleist ProVs, is the Sugar Pure. Slightly less costly than Snell and Vice without having to spend a fortune and buy 5 dozen at a time, they are sold in a "cube" of 27 for $69. It is an urethane ball, but I couldn't tell you if it is TPU or cast. I was involved in a month-long test of the ball and came away impressed with it, as did others who tested it.

I’m a QST user now but I think the new Maxfli lineup might be better.

I lost a club of iron distance with the old ones, and I have a super slow SS.

Have not hit the new ones, but the criticisms of the old ones are legit.

Kirklands are so cheap I basically treat them like range balls when I’m playing a dusk practice round on the course. Sometimes I don’t feel like walking out of my way for the stray duck hook and leave it for the dew sweepers to find the next day. As others have mentioned the Maxfli Tour X is a much more comparable ball to the ProV than the Kirklands. It’s hard to beat the Kirkland in terms of price and convenience - grab some strawberries, toilet paper and golf balls all in one trip.

It’s not a Pro V1
