NEWS LA Golf - Struggling

I’d argue the designs aren’t as spectacular as billed. Good, but not as hyped as they try to be.
The few products of theirs that I have tried I was not impressed with. I am sure they were good. Maybe even a poor fit. But still wasnt blown away..

Same. Very mediocre for me, I was just trying to be tactful hahaha

I'm sure the $1,000 G-Series shaft wasnt a top seller for them either

Its tough. i really enjoyed the L-series iron shafts but those have gone up $30/shaft. The woods and hybrids werent great, the putters are the worst things ive ever tried, and the ball felt like a brick

Not to mention their marketing is cringey as hell

Sure. Me as well. I am trying not to paint with too broad of a stroke. I have tried a few of their products not anywhere near all of them. So I wont say they all suck.. Or really that any suck.. What I tried just didnt work for me.

I think as a company, they’re pretty clueless and out of touch.

from the Yahoo article...."LA GOLF's pro player, anti-establishment DNA has made it the most provocative brand in golf."

LOL

SO dumb. Just like their stupid PGA Show booth with velvet rope and "bouncer" setup. They're out of touch.

So far, and this is strictly my opinion, you have to really really want to play LA Golf products to play LA Golf products.

I think this is a really good way to put it, I tend to agree.

Other than the putter face technology they license to cobra I honestly can’t think of anything LA Golf has that I actually care about. I only care about the descending loft technology because it is in cobra putters. I’ve only had my cobra putter a week but I really do like the way the ball rolls off the face.

And they acquired that as opposed to creating it.

and made it infinitely worse.. Their carbon fiber putters are gross.

And hopefully when LA Golf eventually goes belly up cobra is able to acquire the sik patents or at least has a contract that lets them continue to license the tech for as long as they want.

Yeah those are unfortunate

I'd argue that their marketing/social/brand identity fits perfectly with the typical LA mindset - vapid, shallow, self-serving and utterly forgettable.

It's pretty tough to stay at super upper end pricing when the components just aren't that special. Even PXG dropped their pricing a good amount over the years, and their products really perform.

Some would say products.
Some would say marketing.
Some would say tour usage.
Some would say management.
That feels whole enchilada-ish 😆

Odd, knowing the Discovery CEO more then I care to, he’ll ruin this like everything else he has over levered before he is shown the exit door.

A lot of hate for LA golf here. For me, I was fit into the A series iron shafts, twice. I love the profile and they work for me. I build my own stuff, with used heads and the shafts were consistent weights and were easy to install. I remember the hate for PXG when they first started out. Great clubs and company and people are over the initial fanfare. Bottom line, people should care less about the fanfare, if the product works for YOU, do YOU'RE thing. I could give a crap about their marketing, bling, whatever. I like their shafts.

Not sure it’s hate just because people are sharing different opinions?
