Decided to get in line and wait for the fitting results. Also called an audible and went with the green. Saw some photos that made that a necessity.

Me too! I’ve been locked in with my gamer for 10 years but the LAB really speaks to me and I can stomach the looks of this one. Can’t wait (but will have to wait two months)!

I’m a bit of a putter snob so I’ve always scoffed at the LAB putters. Then I rolled one at Golf Galaxy a few months ago and thought to myself, “you know they might be onto something here”. I still hated the shape but it felt like I had the ball on a rope.
Fast forward to this release and it seems to have mixed the performance of the others in a shape that I think I could be cool with. Excited to try one sooner or later. Still going to take a lot to unseat my current rotation of gamers but I’m very intrigued and I love all the alignment customization options. Very cool release.

Basically resigned myself to the fact I will be ordering one of these.. just a matter of when.

Next to the DF3 I mostly intentionally matched.
Gears shaft.
Feels good. Using them back to back there's a serious separation in feel of the stroke. A little more than I expected. The shafts are different though. Stock steel on my DF3.
Which one feels better, and in what way?
Man, that looks cool with the insert. I ran across a DF3 that was custom and had the TPT shaft in it, which LAB claims is the best putter shaft the company has tried. I thought about ordering one of these OZ.1s, but when the wait time appeared to be 2 months and this DF3 was available, I decided to go the custom DF3 route. I want to be settled into a putter immediately, so that I can practice and feel very comfortable by when tournaments start in mid-March. I’ll tell you, though, your photos make me second guess just a tiny bit. I love the DF3, though, and that shaft is so stable.
Congrats, though. I can’t wait to read what you think about it.
It's interesting. The swing weights and balance points are the same but with the smaller head it feels like the more concentrated mass wants to move a little faster. Could be perception. I've had a very long day.
And the insert vs non is noticeably different. I'll get them on a quicker surface tomorrow and do a little better comparison. The Gears shaft is really interesting. I'm not fully sure how I feel about it yet but I'm 100% glad I picked it.
Honestly they both feel really nice in their own ways. I never had any complaints about my DF3.
The visual difference is pretty stark, and I immediately noticed a tendency to have the ball slightly less forward in my stance with the OZ.1i.
Fun stuff. I look forward to playing with them more.
I am really liking the look of the OZ lineup, will be interested in your feedback once you start playing.
I rolled it a bunch this morning, but I'll try to get it on the one course where the greens aren't covered near me tomorrow.

Very jealous! Counting down the days, but still probably 3-4 weeks away. Should be able to give it a thorough rundown, the west coast has had no rain and greens are running hot!
This was the first 0* shaft lean custom I ordered. First of many. He rolls it really well and I think it opens it up to a lot more people. Feels weird to me as a press guy but I love it as an option.
