Let's talk about Golf Hats

As a person with a very large head, fitted size 8-1/4, it's hard to find hats that actually are made for me.
So, in the end I go with Under Armour XXL fitted hats.............they fit well enough after they stretch a little, to serve the purpose.

Shelta Condor brimmed hat is another I own, but they offer very large sizes............so that was a great option.

I'm going to ask a question that I wonder if anyone else has ever even noticed or cares. To me it makes all the difference in the world how "finished and clean" the hat looks. Meaning to me it looks more premium and well made if it has it vs not. On the bottom of the front panels there can be a stitch line that goes across the circumference of the cap which is called pro stitch. Imperial and other brands often don't use it. It doesn't cost hardly anything more to have it and I think it looks so much better. Check out the attached- Imperial cap doesn't have it and Turtleson one does.

Never even knew this was a thing, much less what to call it. Makes no difference to me.

The thing about that bottom hat is it’ll be soaked in 5 minutes, then the crown gets all out of shape and the sweat stains shine.

I never noticed the stitch thing before, but it does looks better.

I look for shape and fit. It seems like hats generally protect me from a sunburn (and I don’t have much hair) so I don’t worry about UPF protection too much.

I tend to like Imperial hats a lot. They seem to fit my melon well.

Primary concern is sun protection.

In the summer is Titleist Aussie wide brim hats for sun protection. In the winter is when the cap collection usually comes out on the course for me. I look for style, fit, and color. I am one of those guys that the hat must match the clothing I am wearing that day.

No rope hats and no trucker hats. Ugh…

Yes that Turtleson hat is cotton but was just showing for the stitching difference. I won't wear a cotton hat on the course during the summer due to the sweat stains as well.

UPF is to protect you from skin cancer not your hair.

shape first for me. Most hats don't fit, and it sucks (a lot).

Then it's quality.
Then it's whether I think it looks good.

I am not sure I make concessions over any of the three.

I tend to agree. There is a lot of inconsistency in the market today.

Look and feel are the most important. It has to be minimalist. I do have 1 big Titleist logo cap but only purchased it because it has the UAE flag on the side. Also for colors, it's only white, navy or black.

It’s gotta be a snap back rope hat!

Fit is probably most important, would much more like a fitted hat but have a smaller head so sometimes hard to find so go with a snapback. Some are better than others I don't want to have to snap the cap a bunch and have the hat look weird in the back.

Sweatband material, now I don't sweat a ton but so many hats have a crappy one, and after a bit it just get like a wrinkled piece of bacon and ruins the hat, won't buy a hat with a crappy band.

Obviously look/design, I need to like the way it looks.

Fit and looks. Took a gamble on Melin today...

2 main things for me... looks and fit. The Travis Mathew flex fit stuff fits so good and I really dig the looks of their hats.
All of this is me also

UPF first, then comfort, then durability. I like to wash it at least rinse out my (bucket) hats after most rounds, so I want something that isn’t going to fade quickly.

UPF is to protect you from skin cancer not your hair.

I am talking about not getting a sun burned scalp. I don’t have hair and my scalp doesn’t get burned when wearing hats. Maybe I am wrong but I kind of assume that if I am not sun burned then I am protected.

The THP adjustable no structure that is perfect for me as is my Nike Dri-Fit college hats which are same style

I am mostly style, I do love a hat with integrated magnet like the pins and and aces ones. I am working on something to fix that problem for my other. My current rotation is a couple of fun ones. My daughter refers to them as my preppy hats because of the rope.

Got this in yesterday. XL... The fit is perfect. Feel and looks are great.

Don't really care for the tee loop... Why would I put a dirty ass tee in a white hat? I guess I could clean it after each use but...

aint nobody got time for that GIF

Honestly I am gifted (and receive free) many hats that I rarely go looking to purchase another. I have a closet full of hats. But on the occasion when I do buy one, its always do to a cool logo or saying on the hat.

flat bills

I want/hope for it to be Imperial.

That’s pretty much my cut off for deciding haha

Shape/fit is the most important thing to me. Love the Mizuno Tour Flat
They have to be flexfit.
Brand doesn't really matter besides it won't be Titleist (too many giant secondary logos)
