Wanted to give you a quick update on Day 1 matches since we gave scores but didn't get to talk about it much.

Partnered with Captain @jlew we drew the task of playing against KJ and Alex. That was a really good pairing because Alex, who is one of the nicest people you will ever meet, is a higher handicapper and KJ never misses a fairway. So shamble is perfection there based on his strengths.

The first three holes, were rock solid. We went up 2 early and Jlew and I were hitting all the fairways and greens and making a few putts. We had a chance to go up 3 and I missed an 8 footer. But we were still cruising. A swing point came when we had a chance to halve a hole, and Captain had about a 4 footer but it was a bender. It slid by the hole and it went to 1. Then we hit a skid of Alex net birdying us. 3 in a row and we found ourself down, but the truth is, there was no pressing, because we were playing good golf.

Down one on 9, Jlew hit a good drive and I found myself with about a 10 footer for birdie to halve it. KJ also had about a 10 footer for birdie and that would have ended the match. She went first and it just came up a tiny bit short. I walked up and made it. We pulled the halve.

Best ball was a tougher animal so despite us urging KJ to take in more drinks, she is just such a steady player. We had a blast out there. And the games were clicking where they needed to. We got up early and didn't have any pops really, so it was just fading them where we could, and holding on to halving holes until a pop hole came about. I believe we had 1 more coming up the last 4 holes, and we ended up winning the match on 16.

Taking in 1.5 when we didn't think we could get much was a win, but more importantly than any of the results, was getting a chance to play with @jlew
We had a posting snafu early, and shout out to @Muchmore and the rest of the THP Team there for being rockstars and getting them fixed and Captain was concerned. I had to remind him that his work was done. Now it was time to take it all in. It was a privilege to hang out and see how he did it, his way, which was an awesome way, and to help him have fun. This place, this event, these people. Its everything. Its humbling. It's what you want it to be, but its better.

Thank you @jlew and of course KJ and Alex for a wonderful day on the golf course.

Rep that G everyone! Lets go Team THP!!

KJ? I don’t know her. @callmedaddy? Heard of her.

Got up super early so that I could get caught up fo these singles matches. Placing many bets at the moment ,lots of action out there.

I’m excited to see the Dye course today. The Clive gets lots of love and rightfully so, but The Dye is the more interesting course from a shotmaking perspective for me.
Agreed. But so much sand. So much sand.

General consensus is that the liquor served at the nest was distilled in a back room using left over supplies such as toilets.

That stuff was rough
Bathtub liquor ?

Agreed. But so much sand. So much sand.
It’s completely re-bunkered too. Caddy was saying it is a lot harder around the greens

If there was ever a person sharing a round with who would beat you like a drum and then say "say my name b*tch", it's @callmedaddy
She would do it with love of course, but I would still be awkward haha.

I don't know how to say this.
If any of you are worried that the Dye will be a tough track, don't be.
I thought that Clive was actually harder, and played my best golf of the week on Dye.
Found the fairway bunkers, greenside bunkers, the rough and the water..... and I still put up a score that I was very happy with.
Pick your spots, play away from the danger if you need to, and get out there and take it to Team Callaway!

Be proud. You are in a position to make a lot of magic happen today!
Dye is definitely more fair and there’s more chances to score. Just have to know when you take your medicine. That’s any Pete Dye course though. Always know where the “miss“ is. Really the biggest threat is if you are unlucky enough to end up in bad spots it can really spiral. Thankfully it’s match play where every hole is new. Visually it will mess with you a bit. Especially the final holes. That’s your motivation to close the match out early 🤣.

That's a tall ask and I'll be looking up at @callmedaddy...literally all day :ROFLMAO:

Will give it my best and will be a great day out there!
If you believe in yourself as much as I believe in you - there's no question how it's going down. Get some!

That’s ok. Some of us liked to use other unconventional angles to the green as well

I thought it was a great idea until I found out it's out of bounds as a different course

Will focus more on staying in correct locations today.:ROFLMAO:

Believe in yourselves today gents! Success starts with self belief!

Tell yourself you're the greatest on that first tee!
