CONTEST Live Update Thread – The 2024 Grandaddy of Em All with Callaway Golf

Pretty close to the same, but I do occasionally get pulled away on things and it sucks during Grandaddy week. Gonna try and change that next year so I can follow better.
I have an all day training next week. When it was being scheduled, I almost told them I can’t make this one. But the dates worked out luckily lol

There were some wedges given to captain @jlew and watching him open them on opening night at Callaway HQ you could see him getting a bit choked up. They were custom and had family names on them. See, that is the part that many don't understand. A THP Experience changes perception of the community and the people behind the products that we choose to do these with, are what make these things possible. A person like an AT or Jason or Nick or fill in the blank most of the 20-30 or so we encountered want it to be over the top, they want it to be special, they want it to be the greatest amateur event ever created. But the execution is near flawless every single time, that is the separator.

It's the one week out of year he's not dancing around the house singing Taylor Swift songs.
Wife has Taylor Christmas songs going right now and I’m in heaven.

Is there a release date? Let’s say someone you know has a dozen CTs left and it’s usually reorder time, would you reorder or wait?
Easy wait.

I feel like anytime we ask Callaway (or other brands) for help with a gift they always go above and beyond. They get it. And the gifts are always awesome.

When they were working on @MattyD-MPLS gift we wanted a Toulon Vegas but they didn't have any 2021 heads at that time. So he got a 2022 (at the time not released) head. They just care and it's cool to see.

They came together so well. @jlew did such an amazing job steering us and making this the event of a lifetime from the THP side. Just an amazing human and great leader. His excitement and passion for this event showed the whole time.

This is the exact point of my off course episode. I KNOW that hole in the Dye, I just don’t know what hole lol

I could even tell you the exact shots me and my opponent hit. I just don’t know where it is on the course
8 I believe. AT and I rinsed our shots and both had 5's. I thought this was the prettiest hole on Dye.

The only issue I had was the heel part of the shoe rubbing my Achilles and it was annoying.
Yes. I had two blisters after day 1 and in the early morning dew, a few of us were slipping around. They did stretch out a bit, but I switched to spikes on day 2.

You see it from the outside and it’s beyond cool. Teams before have done an incredible job bringing the community and other followers along, so you have an understanding of what goes on behind the scenes and what it means to callaway as well. But I’ll be a broken record in saying it’s a different level of appreciation and understanding after living it. Amazed and forever grateful.

I am beyond grateful. Callaway and our Hideaway hosts are beyond generous and beyond friendly to complete strangers. Everything is over the top. What really got me was not the golf talk, but talking about life, family, struggles, and even house prices. They are such good dudes and gals. Had great conversations with everyone I met, especially our playing opponents, @AT_CG @ZackOakleyCG @AlexUpeguiCG and Mikey Brennan.

Someone else might have posted it but my beautiful wife who everyone has now met spearheaded the friendship bracelet movement. I think I got to everyone through the week. She was so excited when I told her people even wore them. 😃

Another thing I tried to drive home for you guys on our call. I can talk until I’m blue in the face about how wonderful it is, how it will change your life, change your perspective and if you allow it, will ultimately make you a better person.

It rings hollow until you go through it because human nature kicks in and tells you “no way it’s that great??”

Guess what, it is and those who’ve walked the Grandaddy path know and it’s so damn special we want others to experience it.

Going to make a reflection vid later today. It was not an easy 2024 for me personally and I have to say this was absolutely amazing and changed my perspective forver.

No detail is overlooked, nothing at all. It’s truly amazing.

We will share after the fact

Nothing new on here, it’s just a lot to blur out and we as a team decided it would be much safer for the experience itself to not risk overlooking something. I believe you see some of the blacked out ones later in the thread, but given the time and effort it took to black everything out it was simpler to just live in the moment.
No way I could have done it properly during the experience. I posted mine during the few hour delay at the airport on the way home, but it took a while to make sure I got everything. There was new stuff mixed in with old stuff everywhere. One section I just completely blacked out, new and old, to be sure.

I had a bunch you tell me this in person, over zoom or via PM. There was a bunch of the Grandaddy alum at Adam Rank event. So many of you reached out via PM. You don’t know until you know is so accurate.
