Yes. It was a blind fitting, so to speak. We were asked not to look at the bounce numbers when we were handed the clubs. I hit all the available grind and bounce combinations in the 60. It turned out that the more bounce I had, the worse the results. With the higher bounce options, I was hitting the ground before the ball or the face opened shooting the ball off to the right.@Bernoulli , going low with the bounce? Are you a sweeper? Curious about how your fitting went with the various bounces to land on these. I am very curious about the T grind!
I may or may not have just purchased the non-Vokey version.That's![]()
I did a customization,Did everyone get custom stamping??
I can't wait to see all the in hand pics!I did a customization,

I went with tour issue black onyx s400. I’m coming from kbs $ taper S+.Curious if S200 was the shaft of the day or if there was some departure?
Such an amazing event. The participants were treated like kings!!I agree with Chile- the people at Titleist are what really took this event to the next level. The genuine passion and excitement they have for golf and golfers like us is unrivaled. They could have easily just finished our fittings and went on with their day. Instead they chose to hang with us, come out and do some shots on the short course, stay for dinner and conversations/q&a session, etc. I mean we got to talk and hit shots in front of Bob Vokey! We got to have amazing conversations with Josh Talge and Jaqueline.
The attention to detail in all areas of the business is incredible. So much automation to take out most of the human error effect on custom builds- every spec sheet has its own barcode that gets scanned and brings the appropriate materials to the worker’s station so they don’t have to remember the specs. They produced over 11k total clubs yesterday and that was below their goal for the day. I can’t imagine other brands are doing things to the level of Titleist and makes you want to use them because of this. It’s infectious throughout the entire company.
I want to thank @jdox and @Canadan again for hosting such an incredible experience and for the pleasure of meeting my fellow thp members. It was truly an honor to spend time with you all and get to know you. As Chile said, it would have been great to have some more time together, but we have memories that will last a lifetime and hope we continue to stay in touch on the forum and via our group chat.
I mean all of this is incredible, and the same love of the game we saw at Briggs for the ball fitting. I believe you can go to the Titleist page and find a fitter near you.I knew I wouldn't be able to follow live very well, so rather than skim I held off until today so I could take enough time to take it all in. While the only Titleist gear I currently use is the PV1X, I follow their TPI Youtube channel religiously for all of the amazing content they put out (mainly with Dr Rose and the biomechanics team). This experience seems to have more than exceeded the high expectations going in. If I could ever find a local wedge fitting I would love to do one someday. Love my RTZs for now, but doing a full fitting would no doubt be better and those new black finish Vokeys are mighty nice looking. Thanks for all the great updates.
Recapping my wedge fitting experience at TPI, the whole process was absolutely amazing. Everyone at the facility made you feel special from the moment you pull into the parking lot. My fitter was Lucas Bro and I can't say enough about the guy. My wedge game is has been pretty off recently so I was really looking forward to this experience. I was 100% okay with any loft/lie/grinds etc that I was fit into because I truly trust these guys. Lucas was extremely personable and knowledgeable. I was somewhat nervous and he really calmed me down. He gave several pointers to help my swing, but made it simple and easy to follow. We focused mostly on shots within 20-40 yards. I really struggle to control those short shots when it comes to distance and direction at times. We mostly focused on whether I should keep a 60 in the bag or use a 58 and how the grind can help my swing. My set-up prior to the fitting was a 50.08F SM10 w/ PX LZ 6.0, Raw 54.12D bent to 55 SM10 with PX LZ 6.5, and Cleveland RTZ 60 Low with PX LZ 6.5.
Post-fitting Results:
All Jet Black finish with True Temper Vokey Wedge shafts, Standard loft/lie, and GP MCC+4 Blue Midsize grips.
SM10 50.12F
SM10 54.14F
SM10 58.06K
Honestly these lofts and grinds made complete sense for my game at the moment. Lucas reiterated the "at the moment". He saw the power ands potential in my game, but I'm not ignorant to thew fact that I could use some extra relief right now. The 58.06K was what I tested the most and it felt so good. The contact with the turf was clean and it felt crispy when I hit the ball. The ball flight was perfect. I could go on for days about this fitting. Can't wait to see the customizations in person when the wedges arrive home in a couple weeks!
Dude! Nice haul right there.
I mean a legit outdoor on grass fitting, not Edwin Watts or PGA Superstone on an indoor mat.I believe you can go to the Titleist page and find a fitter near you.
Sea Island performance center! Definitely worth the drive, better than Sawgrass IMOI mean a legit outdoor on grass fitting, not Edwin Watts or PGA Superstone on an indoor mat.
And preferably cheaper than the tour center at Sawgrass haha![]()
Good tip. I forget they're up there. Could take the missus for a short getaway maybe.Sea Island performance center! Definitely worth the drive, better than Sawgrass IMO
So @Canadan gets the special 'elite' Titleist wedges with no bounce?![]()
