At THP, we believe that testing should be done not only by us, but also by golfers just like you. One of the cool features about being an active member of the THP Forum is that we look to you guys/gals, the consumers, to give feedback on equipment to golfers all around the world. Each month we send out iron sets, drivers, hybrids, putters, trainings aids and golf balls to our active members to be a part of the THP Forum Member testing. So, who wants to test the brand new Project X HZRDUS Yellow G5 Shaft?

Project X HZRDUS Yellow G5 Shaft​

Last week, we previewed the latest shaft from Project X in the HZRDUS Yellow G5 and if you missed our preview article on it, you can find that here. Below is an excerpt from that article.

“In Gen 5, we used 4D optimized carbon with 0/90 degree fiber orientation strategically placed in the handle section to create a firmer, more stable feel where players load the shaft most,” said Jonah Zaleznick, Director of Composites Engineering at True Temper. “This targeted material placement enhances feedback and control without sacrificing stability.”

Criteria​

We will select a group of 5 THPers that will join THP’s Content Creator Dan Edwards. If selected you will get a rundown prior to ordering of the posting and review expectations. If you have questions beforehand, do not hesitate to ask below.

You must be able to check in on the forum thread daily (or close to it) to discuss and answer questions.

Please note: You will be reviewing the golf shaft for a period of two months and then they are yours to keep. If you cannot commit to this length of testing please do not signup.

You must apply by end of day Sunday May 4th, 2025

The yellow brings back some memories. The original bright yellow shaft I won from PX on a twitter contest picking the winner of the WM Open many years ago. Sadly I don't remember whatever happened to that shaft.

Having played and enjoyed the Yellow in the past I'm very curious about this one. I mentioned in the other thread that I had very good dispersion with it but my current shaft gives faster ball speed and ultimately more distance. TrueTemper says it has faster ball speed in the description, so let's throw my name in the hat.

Currently using a Mitsubishi Tensei Ck Pro Orange 60g Stiff at 43.75" without the head.

Ping G430 Max 10 degree

Open to either but currently prefer 60 series.

I think this shaft could very well have potential for me. A stiff tip and butt section with a softer middle section sounds ideal. Low spin part is speaking to me.

This would be fun! I’m quite curious how yellow would compare to black for my swing. It seems like my tempo would more closely align with yellow 🤷‍♂️
