You got to play #2 before heading back didn’t you?!I think about that trip often
Yessir, I played it the following morning. Shot 93 after making 5 or 6 straight doubles on the opening holesYou got to play #2 before heading back didn’t you?!
Uh, yes! Fantastic way to cap it off!I’m absolutely shocked. Wasn’t expecting that for sure but it’ll be an incredible way to cap off the year!
I could be down to play. I will have to check with the powers that be.OK, so I'll be heading up to the Bag Boy Championship at Ballyhack the last weekend in April. @will is going to ride up and we're talking about playing Tot Hill Farm on the 26th, around 1pm.
Tee times should open up to reserve in the next couple of days, and anyone is welcome to join us. We can grab some dinner and drinks after if there's anywhere close by. I'll stay in the area and drive to Roanoke the next morning. Should be a fun time.
I’m about 45 minutes north of Tot Hill. Would love another shot at it if there‘s room. It’s a beautiful beast and the logo is a bison skull, so be forewarned!OK, so I'll be heading up to the Bag Boy Championship at Ballyhack the last weekend in April. @will is going to ride up and we're talking about playing Tot Hill Farm on the 26th, around 1pm.

Heck yeah, I’m going to call tomorrow and book some times. I’m thinking I’ll go ahead and book two foursomes and see what we can get.I’m about 45 minutes north of Tot Hill. Would love another shot at it if there‘s room. It’s a beautiful beast and the logo is a bison skull, so be forewarned!
Count me in then, thanks!Heck yeah, I’m going to call tomorrow and book some times. I’m thinking I’ll go ahead and book two foursomes and see what we can get.
Looking forward to it!Count me in then, thanks!
I suppose that opens things up a bit. Tobacco Road, Pinehurst area, even Bryan Park Champions or Players in Greensboro. There’s a course called the 500 owned by NASCAR drivers in Statesville-kind of a tot hill-esque course through a neighborhoodI called Tot Hill Farm and the earliest tee time is 3:40. We’d be pushing daylight hard. I didn’t book so we could possibly find an option around 1pm or a little earlier.
Any course suggestions nearby?
TR is my favorite course of all time, but it’s booked for that day. I can look into the courses @JLHinNC listed, Talamore, and of course Pinehurst is always on the bucket list. We have some options I think. It’ll be fun.I can see what is available at Pinehurst, but not until 30 days prior.
Tobacco Road would be fun again. I played it a few weeks before the gathering last year.
I played Tot Hill at the end of September. I think we teed off around 2 and there was absolutely nobody on the course. We caught up to a slow group and they eventually let us pass. We comfortably finished the round.I called Tot Hill Farm and the earliest tee time is 3:40. We’d be pushing daylight hard. I assume that the tee sheet was not booked up that day like it is here?I played Tot Hill at the end of September. I think we teed off around 2 and there was absolutely nobody on the course. We caught up to a slow group and they eventually let us pass. We comfortably finished the round.
Tee sheet was not booked up at all at Tot HillI assume that the tee sheet was not booked up that day like it is here?
If we don't have anything good booked 30 days out, or if we want to change it to one of the Pinehurst courses, depending on availability, I can see what I can get.
By that time, all the courses should be perfect here, since the dormancy will be done and we will be into the grass growing season.
The 500 club can’t be booked more than 7 days out for non-members but looks really cool.I suppose that opens things up a bit. I actually prefer the Players as a local. It’s a bit more interesting to me and you can walk it.The 500 club can’t be booked more than 7 days out for non-members but looks really cool.
Out of the Bryan Park courses, which is the nicest? They both look well maintained.
I can’t find how far in advance Talamore requires but I can call.
Sounds good. I will put a reminder on my phone to check tee times 30 days out.@will and I planned on meeting up in the Pinehurst area, so I think we'd like to stick to that location for the 26th. I'll drive to Roanoke early Sunday morning. @SVonhof, we can wait to see what is available at one of the Pinehurst Courses if you're still ok with that. We had an incredible time last year.
Good advice. I’ll input “Ballyhack” into my GPS.Sounds good. I will put a reminder on my phone to check tee times 30 days out.
And it's an easy 3-hour drive to Roanoke, just be sure you put Virginia, not West Virginia in maps, since there is a Roanoke in both!
I only say that because our friend took her mom to stay at a really nice B&B for her birthday and got to Roanoke for lunch before realizing it was the wrong one and she had to drive to the other one, an additional 3.5 hours...
