Oak Marsh range is open

Phalen opens tomorrow. Lol. The course I grew up on. Still drive by it every day and honestly the place doesn't look ready.

The courses can't be ready but with last years brutal spring, they have to get it open most likely!

My course is talking about opening later this week.

Phalen was open this weekend. It was a wee bit chilly for it if you ask me. lol

Vortex, Schnergun, and I are golfing Bluff Creek @9am this Saturday. We are looking for a fourth. Let me know if interested. We are planning on walking.

If you have not played Bluff Creek it is a decent track with one hole that always confounds me

Lawsonia in green lake opened today. Although it’s raining or had rained earlier. Still a sweet old school course

Love that course. The Links greens are a delight.

6-12 coming mid week. Better track north. Can’t handle two April surprises in a row that delay golf courses openings another 3 weeks

Looking like one of the latest course openings on record in Moorhead, MN. I feel for you guys further south than us. Sounds like you will get pounded by this storm.

Was so hoping to be able to play when I got home from my business trip from India but mother nature has other ideas.

Is the golf course at Northern Bay worth playing? The course with the Replica holes.

Finally got out to play yesterday. Between all the snow and recent rain it has been wet. Just a local 9 hole course and very muddy. Every swing has a pound of mud it felt like.

While I haven’t played it, it’s on the list. I would strongly encourage you to find a deal though where the greens fees come down significantly. From what I recall it’s more expensive then I would pay for the quality.

I haven't played it for a few years now but I enjoy Northern Bay quite a bit. The times I've played it it's been beautiful and well conditioned. The replica holes are well done in scale and fun to play. You can find deals sometimes in the $50-60 range. If I was going to be in the area just once I would pay a bit more to play it. About 30 mins south of there you can play Wild Rock too which is an excellent track.

My wife and I are hopefully going to play both this week. I will let everyone know how it is after.

I’d skip and just play sand valley

One certainly could, I've heard mostly great reviews on SV but haven't been there yet myself. You will drop a lot more $$ there than Northern Bay and Wild Rock I think. You seem to have a curious aversion to NB, considering you said in one of your previous posts that you'd never been there.

Yes, please report back on your experience! As I said, I haven't been to NB for a few years so I'm interested to know how it is.

We are staying 1 night at Wilderness and playing 2 rounds at wild rock and staying 1 night at HoChunk casino and playing at Northen Bay. I did the whole package for $375.

Sounds like a pretty good deal! I hope you enjoy it. Wild Rock is a favorite of mine, I get there once or twice a year. As I said, I'll be interested to hear how things are at Northern Bay as it's been awhile since I've been there.

Our club finally opened on Friday and I played Friday and Saturday. Yesterday it was my first round together since October with three regular golfing buddies that I’ve known for 30+ years. A special day made more so by me holing out for eagle from 99 yards on the 383 yard 13th hole. I’m so glad it’s golfing season again!!

Glad to hear the club finally opened up and congrats on the eagle!

The Castle Course at Northern Bay was worth the trip. The replica holes were fun and pretty close to the real thing. There were small details that would be very hard to replicate like the ridge on #16 at Augusta and the tree line on #13 of Augusta. It was a fun track and very playable. I think we are going to do a guys trip and play it again. The TPC at sawgrass hole is the 10th hole and you can see it right away and it gets you excited! 4 birdies and 4 bogeys for the round and played the replica holes 1 under. The church pew hole is pretty sweet off the tee and my wife ended up in one and had a funky stance and lie.

The Wild Rock Golf Club is really scenic and really hard. Maybe it was because it wasn't hitting it very well but the greens are undulating and quite fast. I three putted several times after hitting shots in the incorrect spot. The views were beautiful and I would love to play it again. Our stay was cut short due to a sick child.
