Mitsubishi Diamana WB Shaft Review

Can’t wait to get this plugged into the g430 lst. Adapter should be in this week

was able to get the 53x out on the course yesterday but i just dont think the lighter weight is for me. I have a pretty quick tempo and transition and i cant quite tell where the clubhead is.

I did hit it better than i did on the range last week but overall, my assumption of picking up a little distance with a lighter shaft hasn't been true.

I feel like with time it's something i could "make work," but its not a natural fit so i don't want to force myself into it

Looks great in the g430 lst head. Looking forward to jumping on the sim and seeing how it works for me.

I love the graphics on these- subtle yet extremely noticeable

Just played a quick round on the sim with the WB. I went with the ‘S’ and it is definitely softer than what I have been playing but still held up fine when I was swinging hard. Spin was a bit higher but the ball flight was very straight and ballspeeds hovered around 160mph. Need more time with it to decide if it kicks the Ventus or GD out. Oh, man does the matte black ever look good

I hit the WB 63X a lot this week, a lot lot. I do think that I want to move it out of the DS LS head and into something a little more forgiving, but the biggest thing here remains the downrange consistency that I am getting for my swing. Really curious to see how jumping from so much time in this to the new Tensei Red will treat me at the Mitsubishi Experience.

Anybody else gotten a chance to give this one a try?
I just spent 20 minutes with it and like what I saw. Firm, stable, good ball flight and really centered the impact for me.

I got a 53TX that is waiting for a tip depending on what driver wins out this battle I got going, but I'm intrigued to give it a whirl

I haven’t but it is one I want to try. I’ve always gotten along well with the WB.

Moved one of these to a PING adapter. 😬

Take what you know, and enjoyed, and amplify it, but with more feel/flow.

It’s excellent.

I’m not sure what more feel/flow means. A lot of times I equate that with softer or you can detect more movement in the shaft during the swing. Not really sure how to define that.

In most simple terms, it doesn’t feel like rebar.

Starting to find something again. Starting to. Still really frustratingly in-efficient in my swing right now.

I don’t usually seek out low/low but I still want to try this in a few different weights and flexes. Love that there is such a wide range in this offering.

Gamed the 53TX today after it’s been the standout in my shaft war I have going on.

I’ve never tried a shaft this light before and I was nervous it would either still feel too boardy for me, or would not feel like it could keep up at a light weight.

I learned from the Mitsubishi experience that the whole Diamana line is built around feel. And I REALLY love how this shaft has some responsiveness to it while also fitting into that “lower launching” shaft category.

I gained 4 full shots on strokes gained off the tee today compared to my yearly average in tournaments. I had a ton of confidence knowing the Diamana WB was solid and stable but I didn’t have to fight it.

There are more shafts I am trying but this has been an experiment that has gone better than anticipated

Really curious about giving the 53S a go in the WB. I've always avoided lighter shafts, but based on some of the feedback this one sounds really good.

I've never gone this light, but it is incredibly stable while maintaining the Diamana "feel" I've been surprised and impressed with the 53TX

Something interested was discussed at the Experience.
Golfers do not love change. Especially perceived change in feel.
So they stick with "their numbers". They dont know or see a change in grip weight or head weight, they just know this is the number I play in my shaft. And going back a generation, it was the same for loft and flex. Despite none of that being normalized.

One generation ago, graphite was 90,80,70. Now, companies arent even making 90 anymore. 80 and 70 went from the norm to 60. Now we have a fear of even lighter, which is the same fear we heard one generation ago about going from 80 to 70 and then from 70 to 60. Yet even the best in the world are going lighter and lighter.

Why? Becuase with composite, strength and weight are independent.

It made me feel a little more confident when I started with this shaft after hearing about that from Jonathan and Mark. And it's totally right. Imagine telling the last generation that 60 gram shafts would be normal on tour? They'd laugh in your face.

Highlighted my favorite part of what you wrote because it's so true.

Its so true.
Remember Hybrids would never take off.
Cavity backs were not for good players.
Graphite cant be swung by strong players (fastest on tour uses it)
Cavity back wedges? Crazy talk.
Composite grips? Get out of town.
Steel shafts lighter than 130 grams?
14 way bags? Crazy talk...Oh wait that one is crazy.

Had the graphite iron shaft talk yesterday with a guy in the group...he saw my irons with graphite and was poking fun at it. Easy to point out now with Bryson leading the charge.

You can get me to try a lot...a 14 way will never happen. Unless of course it comes with an already provided ball retriever

I'm fully on board with this after hearing all of the talk at the experience. Totally get the sentiment of golfers 'knowing their numbers'. I've always just gone with 60 and worked my swing weights out around that. I'm ready to challenge that. Been going a little crazy with purchases lately, but this one has taken up residence in the back of my brain, which means it will likely be tried eventually.
