Mizuno JPX ONE and JPX ONE SELECT Drivers

I have been really intrigued by the JPX One since I saw this drop yesterday. I have read the THP home article several times and have gone down a decent rabbit hole trying to get all the information that I can. Admittedly I have a soft spot for Mizuno since the Motocaddy/Mizuno Experience and getting to see Vosh's passion for the brand up close and personal. I had the ST-Z in the bag and really wanted to have it work, but my janky swing had other plans.

Fast forward to this release and seeing the evolution from Mizuno has me excited. I found this graphic that really drove home the face technology and how the energy at impact is being absorbed and returned to generate the speed and efficiency they are claiming

Tighter dispersion?
Hard to tell honestly. Rusty swing and lots of pushes. But no big bananas which is my really bad miss. I can live with pushes if that’s the “bad” ones

The other thing I was thinking about is for players who go with a 9* head to help with launch and spin, the 10.5* head here will get them back and not sacrificing launch or spin.
True for sure. Loft can sacrifice speed though

That is where I am. I like the left to right ball flight, but usually the slice is my bad OTT and open club face than the club's fault. lol

This is true. One of the reasons Danny fit me into the 9* is to help with spin and not lose speed.

Well forgiveness was certainly put through the paces. Tested just about every part of the face with my awful 3 month off swing.

Hit the One. 10.5. Was honestly really surprised/impressed with the results. As bad as I was delivering the club nothing was horribly unplayable had it been on the course. I left most out to the right. I wasn’t getting through the ball at all but still saw a good distance as it was more of a push right vs a slice right. I saw the same lttle bit lower of a flight as @JB and @Lord Tox have mentioned. Sound is really good and obviously it’s gorgeous looks wise. With what I saw today with a bad swing it has me super interested in what it would do with good swings
Interesting you're also seeing lower launch.

That's a really cool graphic. It's interesting to see how much a new material can impact performance.
Just a couple of pics that werent shared/stolen yet.

That is gorgeous! Great pictures.

Talked with my buddy who is a GOLFTEC instructor. Said he hit the new Mizuno and he gained ball speed and club head speed. Said it is definitely a different feel off the face. Sounds promising.

Getting ready to head out to go hit the JPX One core model. I'm not going to waste swings hitting the select i've never gotten along with weight forward lower spin driver designs. I need all the spin I can get.

Hopefully, I'll be back later on with some thoughts.

Can't wait to hit these and possibly put one in the bag. Maybe in two weeks.

Sadly Windmill didn't have the JPX One in for demo yet. A couple of the guys there have hit it and they said it was really good. They should have one for me to try when I go back on the 24th.

Some of the feedback on speed I’m hearing from a couple guys I know who found them to hit are wild.

FAST.

Have they mentioned seeing lower launch at all?

I am very interested to hear what this sounds like with the new face material. I never cared about sound before but find myself paying attention to it now

@Lord Tox they were too hung up on the speed to really say, they’re also very flat flighted golfers to start with.

That said, I’ve trained them better than this and they’re supposed to take pics of their data so we can debrief each time 🤣

Got some time with JPX one today.

First I'll say I was nervous about the sound but I actually really like it. It's a good, healthy thwack with a little bit of a higher pitch. It's really good. I was nervous it was going to sound like a softball bat. It doesn't.

I said it when I saw the pictures and I'll reaffirm it after seeing it in person. This might be the best looking driver I've ever seen.

Like @Golf Jones the Denali Frost is completely the wrong shaft for me. But after 5 or 10 swings I started to time it up a little better. Actually got some pretty decent results. I was carrying it the same 260 that I do with my MaxK/TPT combo. Which is kind of wild to me to be honest.

The location I was at doesn't have the best quality balls. They're really beat up. I didn't ring my RCT balls with me and their trackman units don't measure actual spin. But I was still seeing similar enough ball speeds (high 150s), which makes me think I might even eeke out a little bit more ball speed with an optimized setup.

It deserves a closer look for me with a better shaft setup. I need to figure out how to make that happen. I went from being totally and completely okay with my current driver setup to now questioning if there's more juice to squeeze.

Oh ..One thing to note is that this location has the absolute doggiest balls ever. Completely worn down Chrome soft. And I still touched 160 BS. Which is usually my high water mark.

Okay one more range day with it.
Decently fast. Like the forgiveness toe side and very much like it high on the face.

With the 10.5 degree head still seeing lower launch than I am used to, by a decent number which is leading to shorter carry. The play here for me would be going to 11.5 or 12.5 degrees if this ends up being one of the sticks.

Fast and sexy. Mizuno really needed this!

I've never hit a driver with a colored face, is it something noticeable or is just a nothing thing?
