Mizuno Pro Modern Series: M-13, M-15, and Fli-Hi Bring Speed and Forged Feel Together

The Fli-Hi’s are something I’ve gone back into the article a couple times already to look at again.

While I can’t hit the 16.5, hahaha, I do love a Fli-Hi in that 4i slot historically.

What’s intriguing you the most on that one?
I’ve always enjoyed having a driving iron to throw in the bag on really windy days. I experimented with a 20° Srixon MKII early in the year but it launched to high for what I was wanting it for( low bullets that cut through the wind and run). I think a 16.5° with a 9x Ventus black might just be that fun piss missile launcher for when the wind is strong and the fairways hard.

@JB the 245 7i has a 10° bounce and the M15 has a 6° bounce. Might be a “Lunatic Fringe”question however would the M15 be a little better in firmer conditions because of less bounce?
Bounce is a single metric and to me an overrated number, since it is singular and there are multiple bounces on a club.

Mizuno makes the best looking irons out there consistently

Great write up @Hawk, these are stunners and packed with tech.

Crazy jealous of that out here in the middle of nowhere.

REALLY can’t wait to see what you think when you finally get to see them.
some work travel this week but will likely see who has them this weekend and will certainly report back, I am guessing they will look even better in hand compared to the already stunning pics

Well written @Hawk

The 15s really stand out in looks and the 13s in what I would consider a "want." I have zero doubt that the 15s would win every fitting between the two with my swing.

I love that Mizuno didn't go away from the "feel" dynamics they are known for. The Fli-Hi will be really good as well. It feels like a UT that has been swallowed up by main stream market

Such a gorgeous few pictures in there, need to get home to be able to really dive in and digest but damn do they look sexy.

I've got to say, they look absolutely stunning - as do all MIzuno clubs (including woods!). I hope to hit them one day, did I miss it in the article, how would the M-15s compare to say the 225 or 245s that by appearance seem like the precursors? I loved the 225s and played them for couple seasons - loved them but as I got older I needed more distance from less speed (if that makes sense), so I started looking.

7 pages in and not a single fist raised to the sky about the stronger lofts.
Must just be a brand thing for some.

Mizuno very rarely misses the mark with aesthetics, and these are no exception. Above my pay grade, but great looking irons, nice article @Hawk.

Mizuno’s iron story has always been rooted in feel. For decades, the brand has built its reputation on Grain Flow Forging, precise shaping, and an almost stubborn dedication to feedback. But modern golfers are asking for more than just purity at impact. They want speed, forgiveness, and consistency in a pleasing looking shape, all without giving up […]

Great writeup @Hawk . The M-15 is giving MP-20 vibes, which I am here for. There are so many great new clubs to try this year. I can't wait for the rest to get announced.

I like the lofts a lot. The 22 degree starting iron should still be fairly playable, and they go to 48 with no irons having greater than 4 degrees apart. A pet peeve of mine is when you get 5 degree spreads in the shorter irons to try to stretch a gap wedge out to 50

This set would probably work well with a 54/60 wedge setup

Agreed, it’s why I’m also excited to see them in a couple of weeks at the show

I feel like you can't go wrong with either of these but the M-13's really is what I would want

The shaping and the footprint of the 13’s calls to me. There’s just something about the way Mizuno shapes their smaller CB styles that has always worked well for my eye, especially in the hosel to topline transition

Would love to see M15s bent weak to go head to head against ai150s

More to everything than just loft.
Clubs can still go head to head for a person.

What makes you want to bend them? What would be your main goal there, just need more launch? Why not hit them as is side by side first and see, ya know?

It’s something I do with a lot of sets, but it’s purely about me wanting to hit specific peaks and maybe get my spin up a touch.

It’s just such a wild thing to hinge everything on without hitting first though, especially from a brand like Mizuno who pays so much attention to those little things in terms of launch, as we both know.

Goodness I love release season.

You and I had that conversation back in the day, I want to say it was about King/Forged Tec at the time. The raw numbers were so good, but some extra loft made them even better.

We've definitely gone over that and I'm a believer loft isnt everything. It would mostly be out of curiosity to have equal everything else and see what happens. Could go stock to stock for sure

i’m asking genuinely here.
You said it would be curious to have everything else equal.

What else is equal other than loft?
The soles are different, the weighting is different, the shape is different.

Totally fair question and flaw to point out. Let's just see them head to head. Heck, that may even be a flawed comparison.

Excited to see how people hit these irons at the end of the day as they look great.
