Mizuno Pro Modern Series: M-13, M-15, and Fli-Hi Bring Speed and Forged Feel Together

M15 are interesting and being a long time Mizuno guy - I just received my S-1 irons a few weeks ago - and looking at the specs of both the 7 Iron in the S-1 is 34 deg of loft -- the M15 7 Iron is 29 deg of loft. Will have to give them a try.

Damn it.

Damn you.

Damn you Mizuno.

The videos I just watched on the M15's.........damn.

AskGolfNut's heat map is absurd.

I have a 7 iron and PW in hand of both of these and both my son and I have spent time with them. Really nice irons. The M13 is very compact. Razor thin top line for a "forgiving" option if that's your thing.

I'll say that they both provide forgivingness, but still are going to be best in the hands of a reasonably proficient player. You can definitely see more forgiveness in the 15's.
Do you think you could game the M15’s if you committed to them, Hawk?

While I absolutely love this, I’m not sure I believe that the M15 is the most forgiving club AGN has ever tested, despite his heat map showing the biggest “green blob” we’ve ever seen…

Definitely. I hit them reasonably well and I've played somewhat similar profiles over the years. The shaping is very comfortable to me.

You’re currently gaming the T350, correct? Would you consider the M15 an entirely different level of forgiveness/playability?

I am and yes, I would consider these to be a less forgiving option just based on mass/size alone, but they are really completely different designs. 250's might be more in line with these? Hard to say definitively. I didn't find them tough to hit though.

I appreciate the feedback!

Great article and these are just beautiful looking irons all the way around.

Do you think they are worth trying a degree or two weak or do they launch plenty high as is?

Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if they were and it also won't surprise me when other release over the next 24 months are just as forgiving. With technology and new materials we will get to a point where the entire club face is less than 1% distance loss.

The new Ping i540 should be an interesting release in comparison to the M15.

All really depends on you I think. I could see there being some height benefits for me just because I'm a pretty low spin player

I've noticed over the past few years that there isn't an iron that I cannot benefit from 1* to 2* upright, 1* to 2* weak.

I was surprised to see how well it helped me, especially in the 6-7 iron range

Has anyone else noticed the M15’s aren’t available in Lefty anymore per Mizuno’s site?

Any fitters here that have received heads who can confirm?

"while still looking and sounding like Mizuno Pro irons. "

Color me very intrigued on these. Both the M-13 and M-15, while the names are somewhat silly for whatever reason to me, sound like they could be incredible.

Just called Mizuno and confirmed. No left handed option for the M15.

I really wanted the original MP-20 HMBs but they weren’t offered in LH. Same for the 225. Then the 245 comes out in LH and is extremely average all around. They finally make significant improvements with the M15 and back to RH only.

I hate to say it, because the JPX line was good to me in the past, but I’m moving on from Mizuno. They’re just too inconsistent with their releases. Lefty rant over. Sorry, all.

need to figure out how to hit these this year

time to build again.
Another light weight set

I got to hit M13/M15 today. Only the 7i fitting head it was paired with Nippon 115, which is a shaft I tend to get along well with.

I'm not sure how Mizuno did it, but they made a better sounding and feeling iron than my 243's. I would have never thought it possible. 243 has been the pinnacle of sound and feel for me over the past 2 years. Adimittedly I didn't need a whole lot of convincing but I'm almost certain a M13/M15 combo will be the iron set I start 2026 with.

If I had to make a decision right now, I'd go 5/6 M15, 7/8/9/PW M13. I could potentially be convinced to go M15 in 7 Iron.

Got to hit the M-15 today. Let’s just say I thought I was dialed into my irons for this year but a contender has entered the chat. The feel was superb and the numbers were right there. Big time ponder mode.

Genuine question. You mentioned in 3DP the need would be MB in that set due to ale size. The 15s are slightly larger than the 3DP Tour, what am I missing?

The reason I was thinking MB in 3DP was because of the added forgiveness that Cobra says they are able to achieve with 3d printing.

My thought, and maybe incorrectly, is that with the added forgiveness of 3d printing I could get away with playing a smaller size head. I love the looks of the S1 and S3 line I've tried them so many times and it's not something I can manage. Was hoping maybe that could be different with the 3DP MB.

This is all theoretical though because I've never even seen or hit the 3DP MB. Maybe I get it in hand set it down at address and I'm so intimidated I pee my pants? If that's the case Tour would get the nod. But my preference is to play something as small as I can get away with.
