Mizuno T24 Wedges

Nothing feels like a mizuno wedge either šŸ”„ Gonna have to try these although I am not confident they will displace S23 for me. Freakin love that wedge
S23's are $$$$. I can understand why you feel that way. I think the S23 is the best wedge ever. A combination of centered sweet spin and Mizuno feel.

Mizuno T24 Wedge Review:
Mizuno, a brand renowned for its exceptional irons, has once again proven its prowess in the short game department with the T24 wedges. This wedge is a game-changer, particularly for those who crave spin, control, and versatility around the greens.

Design and Tech:
The T24 wedge boasts a refined design that exudes both elegance and functionality. Its compact profile instills confidence for me at address. While the slightly smaller profile creates a visually appealing clubhead that transitions nicely from the Mizuno Pro 243 irons I play. The T24 frames the ball beautifully. The Grain Flow Forged 1025 Boron steel construction not only enhances the feel but also ensures durability and groove longevity.

One of the standout features of the T24 is its Quadcut+ grooves. Mizuno has meticulously engineered these grooves to deliver exceptional spin, even in less-than-ideal conditions. The wider, shallower grooves on the 58Āŗ wedge effectively channel away moisture and debris, maintaining consistent spin on both full shots and delicate chips. The HydroFlow Micro Grooves further enhance moisture management, ensuring maximum spin on every strike. I gamed my original T24 from The 2023 Victory Cup with Mizuno for over 100 rounds before the grooves started to show their wear.

On-Course performance:
In terms of performance, the T24 58Āŗ wedge truly shines. Its spin capabilities are nothing short of remarkable. Itā€™s definitely among the highest-spinning wedges Iā€™ve hit over the past few years. I donā€™t have exact numbers but I know what I see on course. Even with a moderate swing, the ball seems to leap off the face with an impressive amount of backspin, making it easier to stop the ball on a dime or even spin it back toward the target. This level of spin control opens up a world of creative shot-making possibilities around the greens.

The T24's versatility is equally impressive. Whether you're hitting a full shot from the fairway, executing a delicate flop shot, or escaping from a bunker, this wedge seems to adapt to the demands of the situation. The V-Grind sole offers the perfect blend of bounce and forgiveness, making it easier to navigate a variety of lies and turf conditions. The V grind is truly special and has quickly become the favorite grind Iā€™ve played.

Feel and Sound:
The T24 delivers a soft, yet responsive feel that is the calling card of Mizuno's golf clubs. The impact sound is satisfying and provides valuable feedback immediately on the quality of the strike. Overall, the feel and sound of the T24 is second to none. Itā€™s Mizuno after all did you expect anything less than butter?!?

Overall Opinion:
The Mizuno T24 58Āŗ wedge is a tour-caliber wedge that, in my opinion, caters to wedge players of a more advanced skill level. I would consider them equivalent to the skill level needed for a CB iron. Its exceptional spin, versatility, and feel make it near impossible to put down after you experience it. While it may not be the most forgiving wedge on the market, its performance benefits far outweigh that for me.

Pros:
  • Exceptional spin and control
  • Versatile V-Grind sole
  • Soft, responsive feel
  • Durable construction
  • Confidence-inspiring design

Cons:
  • It may not be the most forgiving option
  • The smaller profile may be intimidating for some.
  • There could be too much spin at times?! Especially on softer greens.

If you're looking for a wedge that can elevate your short game, the Mizuno T24 wedges are undoubtedly worth considering. It's a club that delivers on its promises and then some!

I think ultimately the biggest test of a golf club is the answer to the question ā€˜Would you buy it againā€™..

My answer is yes, yes I wouldā€¦. I just peeled the plastic on the White Satin one on the top this morning!

Bumping this guyā€¦

Just placed an order for 50, 54, 60 in satin. These look so damn good and feel fantastic. After testing every single wedge possible, these t24ā€™s have some sneaky ball speed which I love and need. I struggle with distance with wedges. Whatā€™s not talked about enough, is the shaft options that Mizuno is doing with this release. I moved into mmt shafts in irons and having the option to get the mmtā€™s in the wedges for no upcharge is incredible!

They do offer a large amount of custom options!

Excited to see how you like your new wedges šŸ”„

Saw a price drop on these, are new ones due soon?

Wouldnā€™t think the T series would be up for new ones but who knows? Maybe?

Howā€™s the wear for everyone with blue ion?

Noticed the S23 mark down and I'm pretty sure I wasn't hallucinating when looking at the T24 and seeing $129.99.

Not going to my lie that price might make me jump back into these. It's been a bit.

It seems across the board Mizuno has been producing top quality equipment for very reasonable prices.

They always make good stuff but their price reductions this year have been pretty crazy. Some great deals.

The T24's performed well this weekend. I love how easy these are able to get through deep, thick rough. It's been a huge advantage over the Snakebites or RTX wedges that I also have. My wedge game this weekend was very good and gave me a lot of chances for good birdie looks. Pair this with a hot putter and I was able to make 7 birdies on Saturday and 6 on Sunday. I had a few short ones that I came very close to chipping in. I'm really thinking about ordering a couple new ones for some fresh grooves before our big Member/Guest and Club Championship with the recent price drop. Question would be...Do I stick with the copper or go with the Blue?

What is the best option in t24? Raw or chrome?

Chrome (shiny) is not an option for the T24. There is satin, copper, blue, or raw.

Dusting off this thread a little bit...

With the Victory Cup kicking off the JPX 925's are the star of the show, but we all got to pick wedge options as well. I elected to go with the 54/08 D Grind and 60/06 X Grind. This is the first time in a LONG time that I have elected a set Gap wedge vs a specialized gap wedge.

Also because of this, I've switched my gapping a little. My old set was PW (43), 50, 56, 60. I found the 56 to be seldom used unless I was sitting on 90-95 yards. Any higher or lower I'd go to 50 or 60. I also haven't chipped very often with it as I usually elect my 60.

With the change in gapping I'll now be PW (42), GW (48), 54, 60. Obviously the gapping works a little better with everything being 6 degrees apart versus the 7-6-4 gap I had pervious. I'm hoping this change allows me to use all my wedges a little more equally. I love hitting knockdown shots with all of my wedges and seldom hit a full one (minus full PW's I do hit those more frequently). I actually tend to hop on a track man and get my carry distances for all my wedges with what I call 9 o'clock, 10 o'clock and 11 o'clock. I'm excited to do that test with these (once my injury heals). Then I carry that chart with me and use it to asses what club to hit based on the carry number I need and the conditions of how it will spin depending on situation, course, etc.

Now onto my T24 wedges, and some of things I'm looking forward to.

I elected Denim Copper as my finish. Not only do they look brilliant when they're fresh, but I love the way they wear in as they get used. I was torn between the blue ion and denim copper, but the wear pattern is what won me over.

I'm a shallow player with wedges and don't take large divots, which spurred my choice in lower bounce options. The X grind excited me for it's versatility and with how I manipulate that club it should be a match made in heaven. I am hoping to use the 54 a little more in my chipping game this year when the situation arises. I need to practice with it more to gain the confidence needed.

I am in LOVE with the shape of the T24. I love the smaller profile and it instills confidence in me. That may go against some common sense (smaller, harder to hit), but I just love the shaping of it.

A lot more review style things to come. Once I can create my wedge matrix, I will share my numbers. I will share my continued feedback as I use them and into my 2025 competition season.

I still love the look of my copper T24's and will put them to work this weekend in our Member/Guest. They just flat out perform. I'm still getting very good spin even after coming up on almost a year of use. I haven't pulled the trigger but will probably refresh the wedges. I really believe these may be the most underrated wedges out there.

I've been in love with the shape ever since checking them out after being selected for the Victory Cup. I honestly thought we would only get to choose from the S line (thinking there'd be a s25), but I was ecstatic to be able to get T24's

Yes the shape and smaller profile are really great. It really gets through the deep thick bermuda rough when you have to flop a buried ball out like bunker shot.

Iā€™m a big fan of the V grind on the T24 wedges. I had to hit a shot out of wet, heavy, clumpy sand today. Threw it a foot in front of the pin where it spun hard and rolled off a slope to leave a 4 foot par save putt.

On wet grass it is more than capable of channeling moisture away and putting spin on the ball. My playing partner said my ball was spinning fast despite skipping along the wet turf. Thatā€™s all I can really ask for. Just put the spin on the ball and try to adjust the rest of the round.

Turf interaction was good with the 10 degree bounce S and V grinds. I never felt like they wanted to dig. The wedges just glided through the ground.

I duffed one pitch shot on a moderate downhill lie. Soggy rough is not conducive for using the ground first technique. Put the next pitch to 3 feet after cleaning the mud from the face.

Iā€™m borderline obsessed with the finishes offered

Canā€™t wait to see the denim copper in person

The Denim copper is just beautiful! I am excited to see how they perform on course.

Seriously something about the copper makes them softer and smooth as butter. Iā€™ve had every finish and copper is by far my favorite feel wise.
