So I started golfing again after many years away. I’m 65 with a bad back. I wasn’t sure if I’d even be able to play at all. With that in mind, I didn’t want to spend a lot on clubs only to find I couldn’t use them. I bought a nice set of Nike Slingshot 4d irons with senior flex, graphite shafts. I had the clubs regripped with midsize grips. I’m hitting them pretty straight with good loft. The only problem is with my slower swing speed, distance is a problem. I know there are new clubs out there that will help me get the maximum amount of distance from the swing speed I have. Golf Galaxy in Orland Park, IL was on my way home from the course today so I went in hoping to order new irons. If the young kid who “helped” me with my fitting had known anything about using the launch monitor, had the proper shafts to test or how golf clubs work, they could have made a sale. I guess I got what I paid for. I paid nothing, and got nothing. I won’t make that mistake again.
