Has anybody purchased any of the cheaper priced nets & divot carpet items off from Amazon. I'm looking for a net that doesn't run $900 or more. I'm looking at something less than say $150 - $200. I was wondering what your experiences have been with them for durability on the net, brackets, and poles. I'd get one with a target hanging down to help save the net some in the main hitting area. On a good day, my ball speed might be 135 mph with a driver but that was a couple years and surgeries ago.

I was also looking into getting a carpet that shows your swing path and such. I never take a proper divot and lift the ball. A sweeper but we all know what thin ice one skates on doing that. I figure I'm about two club lengths shorter than a normal player my age and ability. I make up for it around the greens.

I already have one of the smaller short & and long grass mats that also has the rubber tee spots like some ranges.

I need to hit on those days away from the course and hopefully it will gain some much needed yardage.

Show me what you got and any pros and cons.

I have the Amazon basics hitting net, the 8x8’ one. It’s held up pretty good for hitting balls 4-5 days a week for almost a year. I’ve added a target sheet and the side net and I think all in it came out to be a little over $200. The net was on sale for Black Friday last year if you can hold out.

Second the Spornia SPG-7 if you can stretch your budget a bit. Excellent quality and easy to set up and tear down once you get the hang of it. Looks like they have a smaller version for $189 now.

I’m a big fan of the Spornia as well. One thing I especially like is that if you leave it up a lot is how easy it is to lay it down on windy days.

The Spornia models look good. Maybe I can hold off a bit and catch an end of season sale. Well, at least end of season around these parts.

I built my own. I bought the netting at an Army Surplus Store, and the frame material from Lowes. (PVC)

I hung a thick bath towel at the ball impact spot on the net, which saved the netting from ball impact damage.

I got a little weird with the hitting mat. I would go to Lowes and purchase two strips of sod to hit balls off of. I want to use real grass to hit balls.

The netting lasted for 10+ years, and even doubled as a softball batting cage for my daughters. ( it was a huge net) I did eventually up grade from the PVC framing to 3/4" electrical conduit pipe.

I even figured out a way to have the balls return to me.

I don't know what all the materials would cost today, but back 30 years ago, the whole net assembly was under $50. The sod was under $2 for a 2' X 3' piece.

Just a thought. ;)

I’ve had the spornia spg7 for over a year. It’s fantastic imo!

How easy is it to put up and take down?

Where I live, I'll need to take it down most of the time after use....

Thanks!

very easy. My setup is in the garage and I take it down after each use to park both cars. Just a few minutes, it’s 3 camping tent type poles.

I have this $80 net off Amazon. Works really well. Just added a flood light so I can now hit balls at night.

I have the Rukket Haack 7x7. Nice sturdy setup. Easy to put together and take down. Paired it with the Fiberbuilt Flightdeck. No complaints.
