New Driver release drops...what interests you first

I look for how the tech is going to help my swing and more importantly, how it is going to help my miss

Used to be drawn in by aesthetics first, but really like to read about the core tech story for the release. I know they all have something, but found the nanoalloy story for Mizuno super interesting to read about.

I love the tech story. Especially when it is some sort of new material innovation.

I'll admit it....the looks of them.

Probably first off I am looking at Aesthetics, adjustability and weighting.
Stock Shaft options is always a good one too.

I don't buy much "new". More window shopping for what visually looks cool.

Honestly first thing I’m looking at is the pictures to see if I like the look of it to include the crown, any alignment aids, finishes and color combos.

Then I’ll dig into the tech story to see how it’s built to help a golfer be better weather that is adjustability, new materials etc.

What sets it apart from the previous models. So, pretty much the tech story for me.

I immediately check the crown and immediately know if it's something I'd game. #vaingolfer

Reading James’ article on the new TM drop, and it really piqued my interest. Interesting enough I went straight to the adjustability settings to see what was new.

When a new driver release drops, what's the first "new" part of the design that intrigues you?

Speed

Just because it’s super interesting to me, If I hear new materials involved it’s generally the first thing I want to read up on.
But looks are what will make me ponder a purchase first

TM first. Then the Cobra if I can get a lefty option to try out. Followed by the Ping 10k and Mizuno.

I'm open to any option but the Qi4D has set a high standard for me after coming from the Qi35. I try not to get caught up in the tech behind it but giving me speed and forgiveness balance is key for me.

I'm not going to lie. I immediately click on "Specs" and look for the "LH/RH" column.

Yeah, don’t wanna tease yourself

The tech story and how it looks visually matter the most to me

The new Mizuno really has me interested. The tech, is interesting, and the new heads look nice.

The look at address, is it simple, flashy, distracting, etc.

First things first, it has to look fast, real fast! So aesthetics gets it on the short list.

The initial look is what brings my interest and then the tech story will be what keeps it. First impressions are important so how you look and a little about yourself goes a long way.

It has to be whatever the lead tech story is from the manufacturer. Thats their lead it has to be my first priority - we are talking small margins here (unless there is a Quantum leap of course) and so tech story, materials, model ranges, looks, price, shafts.

Probably the face and what’s new with that.

Net Tech.

The tech and how it functions for me. Like with Qi4D the weights they’re employing similar to the R7 mini piqued my interest.

Cobra DS-ADAPT Max K ended up in my bag over PING, TM, all of the Elyte drivers that I have owned and that came out for 2025. The MAX K it's the real deal especially with the combo of the TPT shaft I have for it. I know it will be hard to pass up the new Cobra Max K OPTM for 2026 but I can't see any other driver kicking out what I have now except for the OPTM. Callaway has something that will be interesting to see but I have everything that I could ever want as all I want now is for some warmer weather
