I have been trying for the last 30 minutes to make tee times anywhere within an hour as a single and can’t get anything booked. Frankly I think GolfNow is broken. I am willing to drive an hour more or less from Natick MA. If anyone needs a fourth hit me up.

Good luck, its rough out there, heading out 1st time tomorrow at stowe acres at 12:48. Not sure if any slots left at that time

I just found a tee time in the afternoon at Crosswinds and one for Sunday afternoon at Olde Scotland. I am playing as a single frequently due to my inability to plan and that makes it tough.

I used to walk Scotty all the time(years), got sick of the POA Greens not being rolled while paying decent $.
Asked Greenskeeper what's up after a round having a beer at the bar, and he told me the town didn't have $ for a roller, so I pretty much stopped going once DW got a great Super.
Still go once in awhile, but usually Summer EARLY.

A friend of mine played Crosswinds a few days ago and it's walking only, unless you have a disability. Be a darned good workout. :)

From what I've seen, it's pretty easy to get a cart as long as you're willing to sign the waiver form. No real "disability" needed.

I'm still walking though, I love it. But some courses are going to be charging for carts even if you walk.

I walked Waverly a few years ago and I had to pay the full fee that included a cart.

I actually found a tee time at Segregansett which I had fond memories of and wound up playing there. It is an old course that is an easy walk with small, quick greens. The greens were very good. I would definitely go play there again. Segregansett used to be full private so I was surprised to see it on Golf Now and it was inexpensive. Definitely worth a play.

First round of the year for me in NH this afternoon - sunny skies and breezy, walked 18 holes. Man its good to be back at it.

If we do a New England gathering this year, I would throw in a vote for The Ranch. It would be fun to play there again. Yale is on my bucket list @zbeekner4 if you learn of ways to get on there I would love to play it.

Yale is cool. Got to play their twice on invites. Another course to play in CT to consider is Lake of Isles near the Foxwoods casino. Costly but a real treat.

Yep, played there last year, and have already gotten emails about teetimes.
Reasonable $ to play too.

I have played it once. I think Francis Ouimet played it on occasion.

It’s nuts... I worked Thursday and we had 350 people. Every day is around 300. Normal week days are half that and weekends we would be lucky to hit 250.

Did you play Thursday? I had the 11:30 tee time. I thought the same thing. Nice course and an easy walk. Well worth the $35. I'll definitely play it again.

I did play Thursday I think I teed off around 1:30. I would definitely play it again. I played a US Am qualifier close to 20 years ago and played well. I remember the greens being really good and they still were.

I wound up having this afternoon free and had to scramble to find a tee time and wound up at Connecticut National. This was a super fun golf course. It was pretty crowded today but teeing off at 3 PM we were able to get around in a little over 4 hours. When I pulled up I was worried it was going to be a tough walk but there was only one long uphill walk from the 8th green all the way to the 9th green. The tee boxes were pretty close to the previous green. The greens were in good shape and there was some room off the tee. Definitely a course you should try to play if you are in the area.

CT Nat'l is about an hour and 20 minutes from me, but I have played it a few times. Great layout, and you use every club in your bag. Not that difficult to walk either.

Yale could possibly happen if we had at least 10
Or 12 fully committed but lake of isles plus a casino might be more appealing for a group? Otherwise, I’m always down for meeting up to play somewhere with THPers!

I played there Saturday morning and it was surprisingly empty when we teed off at 9:30. Definitely a lot more people around when we got off the course. Our 2nd group behind us was a little slow so we really didn't see anyone else on the course the whole round. It's in good shape, don't like their pin solution with the foam inserts covering the pin above the hole so you can't actually make a putt. They used to have a lot more heavy fescue grass on many of the mounds where you could lose a ball pretty easily but now it's all cut down.

I didn't like the noodles either but it is better than not playing. With fescue I could see the course being tough. I found it very playable. The guys I played with were pretty wild and could still generally find their ball and play.

Yesterday I played Acushnet River Valley. It was in pretty good shape the greens were a bit bumpy. The course was packed though. It took 4:30 to play which for me is way too slow. It is generally slow there in the afternoon and we didn't tee off until 12:30. It was a great day out there though a little breezy but very comfortable. If you haven't played ARV it is a nice fun golf course. Definitely worth a play.

I am surprised it took that long to play. My home course is packed, but with 15 minute tee times we never have anyone behind us or anyone directly in front of us. You are constantly moving, hitting shots, with no waiting.

The group in front of us had no idea how to play ready golf and they walked really slow. It was brutal.

Oy vey. Who would have thought slow play would be an issue with 15 minute tee times? I played ARV once and liked the course. I would play it again, but it's a bit of a hike for me.

Well, it's not about "not playing" but rather that there are many other solutions that are miles better. I guess they just went with the cheapest possible solution.

Yep, with 15 minute tee times you really shouldn't ever see another group except maybe on a par 5. I did see an interesting phenomenon Sunday. We were right on pace, only saw the group in front of us once or twice and finished in under 4 hours. But the group behind us must have teed off early because they were right behind us all day. 4 guys, each in their own cart can really move so it can lead to groups bunching up because they actually will play well ahead of a 15 min/hole pace.
