Played Green Meadow in Hudson, NH yesterday for a bachelor party scramble. The tees and greens were in great shape, lots of hardpan in the approach areas though made for challenging lies. Was sad to learn that the 36-hole property will be closing soon and will become a regional distribution center for Amazon. I played this course a ton during my college years

Ever play a course and be baffled by the rating and slope of that course? A few of us play Loudon CC in Loudon NH yesterday. Playing from the blues, the course is reported at 70.4/120. I have looked at the definitions and the math and I say that course has a much higher slope than that. Have you ever played there? The course itself was very picturesque with the great foliage, the elevation changes in the course, the framing and lay out of the holes. A lot of hard pan currently that does present an added challenge of increased distance and the need for accuracy. On a majority of holes I found the greens to be small. The greens were challenging yesterday where the breaks wer so subtle that after I missed the hole I still couldn't pick up on the line. Moderate to narrow landing areas from the boxes with obstructions very strategically placed. The staff literally went out of there way delivering mixed drinks to us through out the round. Kudos! Overall, an enjoyable track that requires little course knowledge to score well surrounded by NH beauty.20200926_121835.jpg20200926_121815.jpg20200926_121509.jpg

The much-used drop area for hole 8 at Butternut. They've had trouble keeping the sign upright and looks like a solution has been found.

Also played Green Hill recently, they had aerated their greens a few weeks ago and they're not quite all the way back, but still pretty playable. Some of the tee boxes are pretty bad though. The 14th, which is a downhill par 3 was pretty much entirely sand.

Yeah, I'm bummed that course is closing. I've played it a bunch - less so recently now that I'm a bit further away. Might try to get out there one time before they close.

i see a few playing in nh....aka the land where covid prevention barely exists. I was not used to seeing no masks, dirty carts, flags out, rakes, water coolers, ball washers....

Whitinsville Golf Club, beautiful 9 hole Donald Ross layout in the wind today.

Played there once before and didn’t realize how great
Of a
Course it was until much later

It was awesome, I played well but had a run of like 4 three putts on front where I was past the flag and putting downhill, treacherous greens when you're long.:D

What a difference ten days makes. Foliage peaked and while still going strong, the wind and rain left the ridge tops bare for winter. Green Mountain National.

Am looking to play Butternut and Green Meadows again. Played Green Meadows 3 or 4 times this year and it was very nice sad as well. Been playing there since the 80's. Playing Stowe Acres on Saturday and Campbell's on Sunday. First b2b of the year. Hopefully get the approach game straightened out and get back in the low-mid 80's

The league I run had our end of year outing and it was back to Green Hill again. A little rain helped the greens and they were rolling much better. We got about 15 min of rain and then it turned out to be a beautiful day.

#18 at the end of the round in bright sunshine:

Also I've mentioned Connecticut National a few times here, played again today and the past 2 trips down there the course is in incredible condition. They surprised us with a bunch of new pin positions we'd never seen, made it tough with their greens running so fast. Love this fall weather and fall golf!

@rlefig Butternut punched their greens this week so I'd give it another week or so before they are recovered.

Maynard was in rough shape, more greens than anything

bummed as I like the layout

I like Campbell's really fun course to play. Need to get back up there sometime.

We play there several times a year. Its always in good shape and is not the hardest course but fun to play. Going there again on Saturday, last Sunday for some reason it was $48 with cart for 18 which you can't beat. Its also nicely set up love the 17th and 18th. The 17th is a shorter par 4 which if you crank out a drive is reachable. The 18th is a par 5 which I have birdied a number of times including last Saturday. The blueberry muffins are great too with the fresh blueberries from the patch on 9

CT National is a gem and an incredible value

Driving down to NYC to play ferry point next to the Whitestone bridge. So pumped

Love the fall golf season, thought I'd grab some decent foliage pics this morning at Butternut.
