Also known as "jointly developed" shafts.

Just like many others I have often viewed these shafts as cheap versions of the "real deal" shafts that were designed with cheaper materials for a certain price point, and basing the marketing on the name. Maybe that has been true in some cases, but in others I have come to find that "made for" means that it was "made specifically for" a certain model head to provide great performance, and work well for a wide range of golfers.

I know this not really news for many here, and it's not really to me on some level, but it has been quite a an epiphany to me in recent years like " Wow! The designers really knew what they were doing when they designed this shaft for this head!"

Late night musings

Since it's late and I'm about to crash, I'm just going to reply with this. Well Duh!

Honestly, stock shafts have changed so much over the years, they really do a great job of fitting a vast majority of players.

Danny talked a bit about this when describing the shafts UST provides to Ping and some other manufacturers. Essentially the same shaft you can buy aftermarket.
