Ahh, ok, that makes sense. Well, when you do get a badge, the first post explains how to activate it so others can see it too.

Wait. I actually looked this time, I found it. You actually need to go into your profile, not just the drop down. Click your name in the top right, and then click your name in the drop down.

Click on your name at the top right of the forum. then click it again, that will take you to this screen and then you will see where it says badges.
