New V3 Kirkland Golf Ball

If it was true (narrator: It's not true) and the word got out, how many people would buy "real" Chrome Softs for $50/dozen when they could get the exact same ball with a different name on it at 2 dozen for $34.99? I'm thinking there would be a lot more "Ksig folks" all of a sudden.

This is honestly simple enough to fact check. Callaway is one of the few (if not only) makers whose product is made in the USA.

Yes the other balls are made else where but CS is a us product.

Enough with the Callaway stuff. They have their own factory and only make Callaway balls. They make special releases for different customers but always have Callaway on them.

Callaway balls are made in the US and Kirkland balls are made in China by Qingdao SM Parker. I'm sure they are not close to being the same, however, I'd bet that Qingdao SM Parker does make balls for other companies.

I know many like to poo on the kirkland stuff and while I will not be playing them any time soon. I dont mind that they exist.

Hey, I have their wedge set, and they are pretty darn good for the price! Obviously, one can't choose a grind or a shaft, but they suit me just fine. I've played the original 4-piece ball and it was the real deal. Anything since then has fallen short in comparison.

I game the wedges as well. I bought a "better" 56* wedge and can't hit it.🤦‍♂️ LOL. They are good wedges. I also game the KS1 putter and it is a fantastic putter. I never played the OG 4pc. That being said I started playing the original 3 pc, then the V2. The V2 are good balls. If you're a high spin or high swing speed player, the V2's may fall a little short but not so much where it was really noticeable. I've shot some of my best scores with the V2. My league/tournament gamer is the Vice Pro but I like to game the Kirkland on casual or practice rounds, etc. If the V3 shows to have toned the spin down they will be really good balls.

I know the stigma, but $18 is a pretty solid deal for a urethane ball. Whatever makes the game more accessible. I'll stick to my chrome soft soccer balls, and optic duo pro's

I don't have any objection at all to them existing, there's a valid niche in the market for them and I don't begrudge that one bit whether I choose to play them myself or not. More options is a good thing, and they're priced very reasonably for a urethane cover golf ball, good for them.

My other thought is once the golf ball gets into full distribution how far behind will the new irons and wedges be?

Looks more like a TP5 golf ball to me, except 3 layers. Normal holes, and then small holes, just like the TP5.

Probably find they are TP5’s that have marginally failed QA. The V2 plays like a TP5 to me.

The V2 do spin like the older TP5's. Maybe if they were cast urethane I could see that but they are injection molded urethane (TPU). Still, if the V3 spin has been reduced and speed is up this will be a hard ball to compete with, ESPECIALLY at that price.

Someone elsewhere tested the V3 vs the V2. The V3 was higher launch, more ball speed, less spin, more carry and total distance.

Yes, I saw that! I'm a little excited to try out this ball. Somewhere else someone played a round and confirmed that data.

If that is the case that would likely make the ball more competitive. Too much spin is a problem I had with them previously.

I want to try the to see how they play. I dont play as much as I used to. If they do the job at a good price why wouldn't I play them. My ego is firmly in check with anyone who feels I need a certain brand. Heck, I currently play Wilson so I am use to getting grief.

Looks like the new V3 was also an excuse to raise the price again, $35 a box now.
That's the online price that considers shipping. In store they are $27.99. About $3 more per double dozen. Considering how much everything is rising by 20%-30% I still think its a bargain

Ah ok, didn't realize that. The V2's were already going for $27.99 in store for the past few months, so no actual increase at all.

I can't imagine that there's anything that hasn't been thought of to put into a ball, and copycats abound. I'm not tied to any ball but I wouldn't be offended if someone saw me playing with these. The only ball I wouldn't play is something hard like a Rockflight....anything else I would play. I'm sure if we look into our bags we would see a nugget or two!

How can you tell if they're v2 or v3?

Costco actually has an internal rule. They don’t mark up anything more than 15%. Average is around 11%. With that info you can deduce how much everything costs.

Interesting. I need more spin not less but I'll put one in play when I inevitably find one on my home course. I find so many KSIGs at my home course. It's kinda insane.
