New V3 Kirkland Golf Ball

I want to try the to see how they play. I dont play as much as I used to. If they do the job at a good price why wouldn't I play them. My ego is firmly in check with anyone who feels I need a certain brand. Heck, I currently play Wilson so I am use to getting grief.

Wilson is a massively underrated brand. One I’d love to see make a resurgence.

I've read that Wilson is actually much more "popular", if that's the right word, in Europe than here in the US.

If you mean underrated as them constantly self sabotaging and shooting themselves in the foot, then yes, absolutely underrated. 😉

Id say that is probably accurate.
Although much more might be replaced by just "more".
At one time they were doing extremely well. But even in the last year, they lost their CMO, next CMO, President and a few sales people.

Changes are taking place, but a LOT needs to happen for them to get back to where they were a handful of years ago for the core golfer in terms of equipment.

Badly run and sold off to charlatans.

Their manufacturing plant in Irvine in Scotland was top notch.

Balls and bags mostly. Their bags are decent quality and they don’t kick the backside out of pricing. My son still plays Deep Red irons.

I'll have to see if ours has the new ones. V2 was a little too much spin for me, lost too much off the tee especially, but felt nice putting. When they go on sale for $24.99 is hard to beat 2 dozen for barely more than $1/ball for a beginner or true recreational player.

Are these the og?

Played 14 holes with the new Kirkland. 1st ball was lost in rediculously thick rough 2 yards off fairway . Durability is good. A few bunker shots and a tree showed no signs of excessive wear. Seemed to have really fixed the over spinny aspects of the ball. Mid launch with good distance. No ballooning. Really like the way these play off the irons. Didn't zip any back but did have really good check up. Definitely a good ball.

I refuse to have an opinion on this ball until I see someone cut one in half. Those are the rules of the internet. It is what it is.

Let’s please not revisit that staged shenanigans 🤣

The V3 is somewhat confusing. Some are reporting the boxes say "Made in China", others say the boxes say "Made in Vietnam". That has me curious as to what performance differences there might be, if any.

I haven't heard of any. With that being said I think the vast majority of the Vietnam balls are West Coast and the ones made in China on the East. The ones I played with were the China made ones. No complaints. There have been very few reviews so far but I would suspect that the factories that are making the Kirkland are making alot of balls that we've already heard of or playing so the QC is probably there. Snell is being made in both China and Vietnam. Dean Snell is looking to expand his production across at least 5 factories to avoid the **** storm that hurt him last year. As long as the factories can meet the precise specs of the ball design then there should be no difference.

That would be the hope!

I've seen reports of both on the West Coast but I picked up Vietnam ones in San Diego.

OK, Played again today. Got 18 in and was playing the ball I played 14 with on Wednesday. I was going to take a picture of how well the ball held up but I lost it in 3" rough 3 paces off the fairway on the 13th hole. GRRRRR I HATE THAT. Not a bad drive. Slightly pulled. 3 paces off the fairway and POOF! ball gets swallowed up into the Etheral Plane. That being said, The ball performed really well. I was getting drives from 240-260 depending upon my strike. My average drive is 235-245. My longest drive today was 268....Elevated tee box with a slight tail breeze. I had 1 30 yard pitch that one hop and stopped dead 2 feet from the pitch mark. Was a low spinner off the 52*. This will not replace my Vice Pro gamer, but, it will definitely get play time on casual rounds. Shot an 85. 6,000 yd. track.

Thanks @Wantacigar for you input. Has anyone else put some time in with these that can comment? My local Costco just got a full pallet of these (Vietnam plant) and I'm pondering picking up a box of these after reading MGS's review of the SuperSoft's issues.
