Matt Ryan was really good & if the Falcons don’t choke away that Super Bowl, he would have been in the HOF.
There's far worse takes in this thread.

That's on me. I brought Rice into their dumpster fire.
But.....stay with me here, what if we put Largent in the system that Rice played and see what his stats would be...... I present to you exhibit A

Projected Stats for Hypothetical Largent (in Rice's Environment)Scaling conservatively: Boost volume by 40-60% (accounting for more attempts, better QB, but adjusting for Largent's slightly lower athletic ceiling and the West Coast's shorter-average targets). Assume he maintains ~90-95% of his real per-game efficiency (strong hands/route-running fit perfectly), but with higher catch totals and slightly lower YPC (14.5-15.5 range).
StatActual Largent (1976–1989)Projected LargentReasoning/Notes
Seasons Played1420Matches Rice's longevity; Largent was durable.
Games Played200~290-300Similar games-played rate, assuming health.
Receptions819~1,300-1,450~60-75% increase; targets rise dramatically (e.g., 100+ catch seasons possible multiple times). Largent averaged ~4 rec/game; could push 5.5-6 in prime.
Receiving Yards13,089~19,000-21,500Volume boost + solid YPC (~14.5-15). Not quite Rice's 22k due to less explosiveness, but elite for era.
Yards per Catch16.0~14.5-15.5Slight drop from deeper shots in 80s to more intermediate in West Coast, but still high efficiency.
Receiving TDs100~140-170Big jump; more red-zone targets in winning offenses (Rice had 197; Largent could approach 150+ with better QB accuracy).
Pro Bowls710-13More All-Pro level seasons with better team/QB.
All-Pro3 First-Team6-9 First-TeamDominates in prime years.
Super Bowls02-3 (likely)Thrives in contenders; could have SB MVP potential in big games.
Other NotesHeld all major records at retirementLikely breaks some of Rice's records or comes very close (e.g., receptions/yards leader for a time)Cultural impact huge; still "Broadway Joe"-level fame but with rings.

At one point in time, Leonard was the best. 2015 Leonard was a machine.
I love you man, but put the grass/bottle down.

@JB here’s the best of all time by position

QB - Burrow
RB - Kevin Faulk
WR - OBJ
TE - Thaddeus Moss
OL - Will Campbell
DL - Glenn Dorsey
LB - Devin White
DB - Pat Pete
K/P - Cade York

I'm actually a pretty big Peterson fan. The vikings have generally been my #2 team for most of my life......I've never seen a harder runner off tackle who also had the speed that he did.

Im still not sure i would take him over LT, given how much Tomlinson also helped you in the passing game

I am not really sure i understand all the LT hate. He's 6th alltime in total yards.....7th in rushing and 12th alltime in receiving for RBs and has won an MVP.

I'm not sure if people watched football in like 2004
I think there's a difference between hate and saying near the bottom of a top 10 list.

Just that longevity doesn't always mean good.
When you get over the legal voting age it absolutely does. Flacco took the BROWNS to the playoffs at like 38 years old.

No doubt LT was great. From what I remember, the NFC West was sort of cupcake back in his prime, so there's that....meanwhile, AD ran for 2k yards in the NFC North.

Well then, let's go back to my post that started this and plug Megatron into the AI.

I think there's a difference between hate and saying near the bottom of a top 10 list.

I would love to meet the NFL exec who'd take Frank Gore over Ladainian Tomlinson

@JB here’s the best of all time by position

QB - Burrow
RB - Kevin Faulk
WR - OBJ
TE - Thaddeus Moss
OL - Will Campbell
DL - Glenn Dorsey
LB - Devin White
DB - Pat Pete
K/P - Cade York
That seems right
I’m 100% positive if a steam room had Burrow and Brees in it @JDax would crawl in

Your point? 18 years with Flacco in the NFL
With 7 of those 18 years over .500 - all with the Ravens, who won most of their games with that defense they had. Since then he's 11-27.

Right time, right place.

Patrick Peterson deserves to go to Canton.

lol no he didn’t. He was the last one standing for a team that won with 5 different QB’s. He threw more touchdowns to the defense than the offense in the playoffs for us. He stinks

The vibe of this thread does feel a little sports bar-ish. I like it boys

And yet HES STILL PLAYING. Clearly he’s still a top 40 QB in the world or they wouldn’t employ a 40 year old

It wasn't much different. The Broncos were quite good back then and had a top 10 defense most years. These were the Brian Griese and Jake Plummer years. They won 12-13 games a couple of times during that run

The AP 2000 yard season was 2012 with the iconic Christian Ponder. The division was good, the Packers had Rodgers (who is no Drew Brees) and the Bears were in prime Cutler mode. But the defenses were not much better than AFC west during the LT run

He played 4 games, went 1-3, and 0-1 in the playoffs.

Played in 5 games and averaged 300+ yards and 2.5 TDs. Better than most

Frank Gore is product of being just good enough not to cut and being the last healthy guy on the roster for like 8 seasons at the end of his career lol easily the worst back in the top 20 rushing yards list
