I've done a search for a thread about this a few times looking for this and haven't found anything. I'm sure there is so if someone knows where and can post a link, that would be.

I'm looking to purchase a non-laser range finder for use on the range only. I have a great app I use on course (Golfshot) so I won't be using this on course, otherwise I'd be 100% sold into a laser rangefinder. But for my use on the range, all I want to get a better control of my distances and based on what I've read a non-laser finder should do the trick. Since they are constantly moving the rope at my range the posted distances on the poles around the range aren't correct.

Does anyone have any experience with these and a recommendation?

Again, sorry if there is a thread about this somewhere but I couldn't find it.

I track yardage using golf shot on the course rather than the range. I think this gives me more realistic yardages than hitting ball after ball off of our elevated tees and marginal quality range balls. It also lets me get a better sense of the effect of elevation and wind.

Like my original post said, I need to have something for the range and Golfshot doesn't do that. I love my GolfShot but I'm working on a swing change and without accurate range distances, it is going to hurt me when I move to the course from a club selection standpoint. But thanks for the reply anyways

Only thing I can think of is to get a non golf rangefinder (I think I saw them for about $100 at Walmart in the hunting section).

You could use something like:

but they won't be real accurate
