NorCal Crew hangout thread

One of my favorite courses will be right down the road from you. I love Yocha Dehe. Rancho Solano is great as well
We played Yocha Dehe with my brother 2 months ago for some crazy deal he had with some membership. We played on a Sunday for $42 each, insane deal. What a great course. One of my favorites I've played in California. It might even make my top 10 list of California courses I have played.

That place is definitely legit. One of my favorites anywhere, even if it a close drive for me. And for $42, you should feel guilty.

Playing Corica this Saturday. I love their greens!

It is one of my favorite courses and I played it 2 weeks ago on the dozen free Pro V1 special for $145 so you definitely got a smoking deal. Had a phenomenal round going until I got greedy on the par 5 17th hole. Two perfect shots left me with 80 yards into the green and I went flag hunting even though the flag was only 8 feet from the edge and windy. My Lob wedge hit the wooden surround and bounced 20’ into the air and right into the water. By the time I overcompensated long and hit the next shot into the sand trap, I came away with triple bogey. Made a mess on 18 as well 😞

i played yoche dehe for the first time this past sat and sunday, its as good if not better than how people describe it. I had a similar experience last weekend on 17 . i had a killer drive almost to the edge of the cartpath , my dumb arse went for the green in 2 but knew i shouldnt and i hit the wooden surround and straight back into the pond, dropped in the lay up area and pulled shot into the greenside bunker on the left, made it out , then 2 putts . it was pretty backed up , lots of hit then wait , on 18 another great drive then an awful long wait for the group in front to get off the green, must have taken like 8 practice swings while waiting , then i chunked my 4 wood into the water finished , lost the match against my wife 87-89

We are playing it again this Saturday and next Wednesday ,

You have a lot of balls going for it on two on 17. My drive was 5 foot from the cart path but I think I hit an eight iron for my second shot layup. Finished triple bogey triple bogey on the last two holes for 86. Not the first time those last two holes have bit me.

On a different note. I tried to set up at eight some for 10/26 at Rancho Solano for the NorCal group but they are scheduled for aeration on the 25th. I’ll give it a couple more weeks for the greens to recover and try to set it up again in mid November.

Depending on what day it gets booked I will be in if I can make it.

Nice. I would have to bow out of anything in November since I just broke my foot this past weekend and I am looking at early December post surgery before I can fully put weight on the foot.

Just booked reservations on Saturday Nov 9th @ 10:11, 10:20 & 10:29 for 12 golfers at Rancho Solano. Who in from the NorCal group?

I’m gonna to cancel our Saturday Nov 9th tee times due to lack of interest since only one has committed. Maybe try again next year when weather is more desirable…

Totally understandable. I'm sure the NorCal crew can get together eventually.

Damn. I totally missed this. I probably could have made this time. Be pushing it to get back for basketball practice for my daughter.

Hi All,
Wanted to introduce myself. My name is Anthony. I’m relatively new to THP. I play golf mainly around the Bay Area Peninsula and South Bay.

I’ve been playing mainly at Baylands in Palo Alto.

I’m about an 8 handicap now. Looking forward to meeting and playing with you all that are in the area!

Welcome @anthonyt ! I'm playing Blue Rock East and Yocha Dehe this weekend, but let's link up soon if the weather permits.

I’m settled in my new house now and intend to play the Fairfield courses, Vallejo (Hiddenbrooke) or Yocha regularly. Give a shout if you all wanna get out. I suck right now but I’ll come out of it eventually. I can also do Davis almost anytime as I work over there but it’s kind of a cow pasture albeit very cheap.

I played Half Moon Bay Ocean Course yesterday and the conditions were honestly pretty good despite the previous 3 days of rain. Course was very soft, not much roll-out. Greens were aerated at the beginning of the month, so the cost was about 50% off the regular rate. Overall a little bumpy on the greens, but not too bad. This course is just so enjoyable!

Here's a shot of my co-worker teeing off on #16.

I played it for the first time last month a beautiful course and the best value on the California coast imho. The day I played it was in the lower 80's and they said it was the nicest day all year and no wind.
