With all of the new club and gear announcements happening, even if others really love the products, what is the brand that when news pops up, it's a hard pass.

There is no major brand i wouldn't buy from if something tickled my fancy.

Same for me, there might be some I'm more skeptical of, but would still test or try before I pass judgement.

Probably TaylorMade for me. Although I did hit irons and a Driver as part of fitting last year.

Yep...I always hear comments when Takomo and other DTC brands pop up.

I am sure there is a consumer for all the brands.

Ping.

Not a hard pass, but Ping doesn’t really do anything for me throughout the line. Then Callaway and maybe Cleveland/Srixon in the metal woods category.

Those were some that came to mind.

I'd also say if the club doesn't appeal to me visually, I may dismiss it, but that's product dependent, not brand.

For me... there's nothing i won't give a chance but i've never seemed to take well to Callaway... i've tried several different sets of irons over the years and just hasn't been a great fit. I know.... weird.

That said, i'll give them another try in the Spring when i go iron shopping but i don't have great expectations at this point.

I've never been overly interested in PING. I wouldn't say hard pass, but I did a demo day fitting with them a couple seasons ago and while not bad, I wasn't blown away by anything I hit.

Usually ping for me. Just never really cared

Ping. Never been interested.

I'm all about equal opportunity, but PING has never really moved the needle for me. I haven't owned a PING golf club since my set of BeCu Eye 2 irons when I was a teenager.

Not that they make bad clubs or anything - just never really got me...especially the looks.

I like all shiny new golf equipment

i've been out on taylormade woods for awhile. not saying it's an automatic pass, but the story needs to be very compelling. i don't feel that way about any other category for them, though.

the only automatic pass i can think of are the dtc brands. takomo, new level, etc.

I read and learn about all of them. It may be tech that carries into someone elses product the next year

Taylormade - honestly have not had a TMade club in the bag since burner hybrid

Takomo

TaylorMade. PXG. Cobra. TM and Cobra have put out some clubs that look great, but just not for me.

Same here. I don't hate them but I've never gelled with anything I've tried from them.

I like Ping in the woods , and the irons I like as well somehow but I am at odds with their color system and that in EU you have to ship them always to the factory for lie angle changes (Brexit thanks, it's complicated). Shaft selection out of the box is not great. So after having two sets, its a bit more "pass" on iron front but not that I wouldn't try.

Callaway for me is more of a pass on irons - somehow they don't click visually and performance wise for me and I would never buy Callaway clubs new.

otherwise throw anything at me happy to try, explore and learn !

Nothing is a hard pass. but some are close. Some of that is just due to not being available at all to try. So DTC stuff for example is close to a hard pass even if I am curious. Simply because I am not willing to take a leap..

It’s not that I wouldn’t, but it has been decades since anything Wilson, Tour Edge, or Tommy Armor, showed up as a finalist in any of my brand-agnostic fittings.
