Oakmont U.S. Open Handicap Calculator-What would you shoot?

They are crazy.. lol 80..

Yeah..... I think that number would be higher than a 96.....

I got 85, but I think they are using the championship tees in the calculation so I would more than likely shoot a 115/120 from those.

yeaaaah I doubt I'm shooting 88 in those course conditions

It says 87 for me. I can go to the flat easy local muni on some days and not break 87

I feel like that is low. I would probably be overjoyed to shoot under 100 there.

94.

Not a chance in hell that happens. For reference I shot a 113 (i think) at Ballyhack.

Supposedly I should aim to shoot 92. For the US Open, from what I've seen, I think if I can break 100 it's probably a miracle.

Having played Kiawah from mortal tees but “full experience “ winds…abd shooting a 103. The GHIN target of 102 is NOT happening.

As for Mr Spicoli… I had much higher expectations for you. 😉
I would love to test how accurate this prediction model is.

agreed! Im sure Callaway will love me for all the golf balls I'd seed in the rough!

Rory shot 81 a few weeks ago in a practice round, no way any rec golfer shoots any better than about 140. #Facts

Rory also played that practice round at member condition, not US Open conditions, which are actually slower greens than normal for Oakmont. The pros this week were estimating an 18 handicap would shoot somewhere in the 120s. There are plenty of rec golfers lower than an 18 handicap.

Mine said 93. Given that I shot about 90 at Torrey, nowhere near the tips, in 2-weeks-before Farmers rough conditions, I have to assume I’d be closer to 123 than 93.

100....seems generous... LOL!

We played today and over a post round beer I told my companions that I wondered if I could break 125 there, especially if playing the championship tees!

101 🤣🤣 that thing is on meth. I'm shooting 200 easily.

84 for me. No chance I'm breaking 100 there

I would 100% bet on you to break 100 there.

While Oakmont is brutally tough, i was talking about this with a friend today who is also a very experienced golfer.

If you hit the fairway---their greens are massive and you will get a lot of roll on drives. You are not going to double or triple every hole. You may even make 1-2 birdies. If you hit a good drive and good approach, par is likely.

I mentioned it i think in this thread, but i've played Baltusrol Lower from like 7000yds, it's a similar track, deep rough, but massive greens.

If i was your caddy , you'd break 100 no question. Deep rough, punch out to fairway and take medicine, hit a wedge to massive green and 2 putt more often then not. Yes you aren't going to shoot your career low round, but i've seen you play---you aren't shooting 100

Some of these greens are ginormous. If you're just on the fairway and have like 170-180 in it's not as bad as it seems
