Every time I see this angle, I so badly want to understand the thoughts behind why the insert has that key shape between the two materials. And not from a larger picture, it’s clear it’s working well from the early reviews here, but specifically the physics behind the thick and thin in the various, non-consistent steps

It just frames the ball so well. It’s so easy to tell if the face is open or closed at address. I find it’s also helping my body alignment. It’s a nice reference to make sure everything is pointing at the intended line before pulling the trigger

If I remember correctly, they ran thousands of insert shapes through their AI design process. Then the algorithm adjusted thickness across the aluminum backing structure to minimize ball-speed loss on off-center strikes. The stepped pattern is what the AI figured best. I know it's not a direct answer, but it's all I've got jotted down.

Also to note, the AI-One insert had a similar design to it. It's been more refined for Ai-DUAL, and it entirely more visible now, but the idea started with Ai-One
That one wasn't quite as robust in terms of variance so a little better to appreciate but still left me with questions. Basically I am not ready to succumb to our computer overlords and want to understand the why/how details

It centers and frames the ball naturally to my eye. Plus the line adds another alignment aid if you use a line on the ball. I really like it.
The answer we got was that specific setup in Ai gave the ball the best roll/ball speed consistency combo. 100k of strikes and more studied to get to that point.
Any particular miss or tendency you have that one of the models may help with? Or maybe just one seems more fun to play with? Always fun to get a new putter!
All of what 0dom said. I’ve said it a million times I’m a big fan of the 2-Ball models and this aid is the best I’ve used. It’s very easy to line up quickly and will tell you right away if you even slightly off in relation to the ball.
Not really, maybe sometimes a slight pull here and there
seriously, I rolled at least 7 putts from 12 feet out on some freaking tough pin placements. It got to the point where one of the guys was upset when I missed it. This putter is so dialed, the roll is so pure.
