Odyssey S2S Tri-Hot Putters

The black shaft really makes a striking difference (to me).

I need to get one of these in hand
Can't lie for a 365g head it swings a lot lighter than I anticipated and I really enjoy that

I tried the Tri Hot JB Cruiser and now I’m asking myself if I should be using a cruiser. I had never putted with a cruiser before and it’s got me in all kinds of pondering now.

Got a chance to roll these at the local shop and I think this might be the one to get me into the ZT arena. I've used the #7 shape a ton in the past but am currently playing the Toulon '24 first run Memphis that is similar to the Rossie. I tried all three S2S models (still in the plastic) and just couldn't get on board with the Rossie or the Jailbird, but the #7 really just fit my eye. The grip felt really nice, maybe just a little slick in the store, but definitely something I could see myself sticking with long term. I'm a little worried about the insert being so soft and adjusting from a milled face - nothing some time on the practice green won't be able to fix.

My season is all but over here so I'll be not-so-patiently waiting for spring to come around before I roll these on real grass.

Coming from my customized S2S Jailbird, I wasn’t sure anything else could make me even think about switching, but I think the Tri-Hot has done it. The speed control is excellent, and the consistency across the face really stands out.The toe performance is strong. The head stays stable, and the ball still holds its pace. The roll from the AI-Dual insert is just flat-out great, immediate and forward without that floaty feel. It’s softer than the Ai-One but still gives clear feedback when you miss. What’s impressed me most is how easy it is to hit my line and trust the roll. It feels natural, balanced, and confident, basically all the things I worked hard to create with my Jailbird, now baked right in.

The balance on them is spot on for the zt segment. That 365g head is exactly what it needs to be.

I'll definitely have to get used to the softer face. How has it been transitioning from the OG Ai-One face to this?

These comments and more have me really stoked for the testing!

Ive been in the market for a new putter for a few weeks. I’m a 34/70 degree guy, so honestly, I can use any putter OTR minus a few options.

I’ve been shopping around and leaving an open mind. I had discovered that a face balanced putter fits my stroke a lot better than my blade, which explained my pulls (over correcting the toe hang). I was open to ZT putters as well.

I tried the DF3 (made 3/5 from 25ft right off the get go), Antidote SB1 and SB2 ( SB1 looked great, but the faces seemed too soft), Scotty Phantom 11 (meh), Spider Tour and ZT (much preferred the Tour over the ZT, but the paint job on the white portion was lacking), and I the grabbed 35” S2S TriHot Rossie (looked way better to me than the 7 and JB). This putter was very nice. My lag putting/making putts was exceptional at 25ft. A guy on the green told me I needed to buy it. My only gripe was the length (realistically 34.5 would have been better) and the more upright lie angle. I had to adjust my stance for it. The insert was incredible! Much better than the AI One, which I wanted to like, but we could never come to agreements with one another. The price tag on these is steep as well for a non milled, not made in USA (try to buy on products when I can), and non adjustable lie angle. The putter itself was beautiful, and I’m typically not a flashy guy. I sat the putter down, and I wanted to think on it.

In the mean time, I picked th SB1 back up. A putter that was nice but lacking at first became one I fell in love with. The whole ZT took just a second on the Golf Galaxy putting green to get used too from when I walked in, but in the end, I much prefer the feel. Yes, I can still push and pull putts, but the lack of face manipulating was wonderful.

I left Golf Galaxy, and I ordered my a new, untouched Bettinardi SB1, but S2S TriHot was next in line. I’m excited to see what Odyssey does with this insert going forward. It is leaps and bounds better than AI One in my opinion. If the come out with a 70 degree version, I may snatch me one up

Edit: you CAN order one 2 degrees FLAT 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

There was a little adjustment period, but the fact that it's pleasant made it a positive change. I can adapt pretty quickly, and in all reality probably prefer a softer insert anyway.

I think it will be fine for me moving to it since I switched to the CTTD as my gamer. Its firmer than the CT and the insert is a little softer in the new so I think it will be about the same for me. Just saw that my putter is delivered so I'll get it unboxed and pics posted tonight when I get home from the gym and get dinner fixed!

Ahhh fun!

You've traditionally liked heavier head setups correct?
Yes, and also slightly longer about 36”+. This is why i selected the cruiser, worst case, remove a small bit.

Was it just the shaping of the Rossie and JB with the ZT that didn’t work for you comparatively to the #7? Have you liked those shaped previously? I would say Memphis is still a ways away from Rossie overall
