Odyssey S2S Tri-Hot SB Putters

This line definitely looks like it would set up better to my eye than the previous S2S models, and they're great looking putters.

With that said, Callaway/Odyssey are certainly positioning themselves at the top of the market in pricing nowadays, in almost every category. Oof. 😬
The price points are pretty tough to take with some stuff. I’d have to be truly convinced that the putter would be one of the IT putters that would be in play for a long time. Don’t get me wrong we’ve seen what technology can do for a golf game but will a 600-700 putter change my game enough for the price? Hard to say. Great looking putters though.

Ooh. Can’t wait to see these in hand. This might finally push me over the edge into trying ZT

I'll say this.

I'd have no issue paying the price considering the improvement in my putting going to the original Frankestein S2S (and eventually the S2S Tri Hot. It's transformed my game.

That being said - in no way am saying that what works for me will work for you or others. I see a putter a long time thing - find the one and never let it go unless something drastically changes.

Definitely if someone is convinced it’s the right putter for them 100% worth it long term. I think there’s quite a few folks that change up putters a bit which having a 600-700 putters on the shelf (Which some are fine with. Hello Scotty Cameron lol) probably isn’t ideal. But yeah if you told me my ideal putter is 600-700 I’d stomach the price if it would make my game really shine.

All of this. I have made the mistake of switching things up just to do it and do not want to make that mistake again. I have found something with the Tri-Hot S2S and please call me out if I change it up anytime soon.

I am excited to see how nice the new Odyssey headcover is. We have been asking forever for them to up their game and they have. Not sure if it's just on the premium models, but it is great to see.

Will be trying to find these this weekend to give them a roll.

Let me know if you do. I want to hear peoples' thoughts.

I like the looks of these, and know they are probably great putters. I do like the headcovers now, at least on initial appearance, they are stepping it up a bit, which is nice.

The price is a super big concern, as others have mentioned. That may be a bridge too far for many people to cross. It was bold for them to go $550 for the StS tri hots, and now another $50 more for this is a lot.

You know, I'm not going to argue the price thing, because I always think that's very personal to people. I do wonder sometimes if the Odyssey brand gets a little more pushback than others though. A base L.A.B. is the same price, and arguably has much less weight in the R&D dept to push around.

Will do. Really hoping that it performs and feels exactly like the S2S Tri-Hot just with a more normal look for those of us who have trouble getting used to the center shafted look.

I tried out the Jailbird today and really liked it. Felt a bit more normal to me than the center shafted version. Oddly enough, it almost looked like the face was a touch closed at address for me, but I didn’t have any trouble hitting my lines. Face felt great just like all the Ai-Duals.

I went back and forth a few times between this and the standard Ai-Dual Jailbird 1/2 Ball. Honestly I’m not sure which way I would lean right this second! I like the thicker grip on the S2S for sure.

Odds are I’ll be picking this one up and rolling a bunch with it every time I swing through my local shop. My WWG trade in funds could go towards a putter…

One thing moving into ZT has taught me. What I perceive as a slightly closed face is a square fact.

I put this in my kid's bag yesterday to see how he did with it. He tends to have a push miss, but isn't a huge CS guy. I thought it might be a good match, and he did pretty well with it.

One thing I noticed right away is he didn't remark on it looking weird, because he does that with every ZT putter he tries.

Speed control was exceptional for him. Probably his biggest weakness, but he saw some real improvements.

So tried these out at Golf Galaxy today. Tried out the Rossie and the Jailbird and I was really impressed. Felt like in the small sample of putts I was getting the benefit of the Tri-Hot ZT but the look at address was so normal. Setup was normal. This has me in big ponder mode. Honestly if I could get the black models in my preferred length i’d already have one on the way. It’s likely inevitable.

Yep! I knew if some people got them in hand they'd be impressed.

My kid has been putting with the Jailbird SB and I'm considering taking it away from him. A silly number of putts going in the hole right now and if I'm not careful he might beat me this summer.

I really shouldn't have demo'd it. It's kinda dominating my thoughts now. Though I do have some WWG trade in gift cards left.

And a coupon is sitting out there.

The Odyssey S2S Rossie SB should be here on Saturday. First round should be Sunday as long as delivery happens as expected (looking at you FedEx).

As always FedEx lets me down. Apparently leaving my putter in NC for the weekend instead of delivering today. Hopefully it gets here in time for league Tuesday.

So the Odyssey S2S Tri-Hot Rossie SB came in today. It’s got the same great Mid Pistol grip that was on the center shafted S2S Tri-Hot Rossie. The Tri-Hot Dual ai face looks and feels fantastic. The setup just feels more natural with the SB look. I can’t wait to get it on course, unfortunately that will likely need to wait til Sunday. But maybe I’ll get out for some practice before then. Until then enjoy some pics:

I’m tellin you, those SBs mess with my mind. I like rolling them, but the face looks closed when I line it up correctly to the target. Probably something I would get used to

I have that same feeling a bit. Figure that will get easier to get used to than the center shafted look though.

Looks great @TWright !

Tbh - I think every zero torque putter looks closed at address when it's square. I just trained my eyes using the line on the ball.
