Odyssey S2S Tri-Hot SB Putters

Would it be wrong to buy one of these, cut the shaft and put in an UST All-In retro?
Or would that throw off the ZT aspect of the putter?

The Black SB Jailbird is screaming my name.

That’s a good question and something I’m very curious about. Also, what about shortening the shaft (I play at 32") - does that also affect the ZT properties?

In theory that shouldn't change the ZT aspect.

First of all - you can change shafts. Shortening is going to impact lie angle - just worth knowing.

@MaineFootWedge you wouldn't want the Retro. You just would use the steel tipped All-In.

With the Single Bend, the bend is what's making the ZT part of the putter. That is why I was thinking the retro was the way to go, cut it above the bend and insert the retro shaft.

If I totally remove the shaft, that takes away the ZT part, and it would be an almost vertical shaft.

Ah dangit. I'm sorry about sorry about. I have two different S2S Tri-Hot threads in my subscriptions and didn't pay attention to the title.

You are correct - the retro fit would be the answer. It won't affect the ZT aspect.

Order is placed..........Black Jailbird.
Had about $360 in clubhouse cash to use, so it will cost me about $140 for the putter.
Should be here within a week, can't wait to try it out and get it in the bag.
Stock shaft will stay for a while, grip is in the air right now.

Went into the clubhouse before my 9 last night, and saw a box in the office. Checked it out and it was my putter......................ripped the box open, took off the stickers, and in the bag it went for a trial run.

First things I noticed, compared to my current putter...................head is light, grip is small.
But, the putting was good with it after the first hole of coming up short.
The insert is very "quiet", and seems soft..................need to hit the ball a little harder.

New grip will go on this weekend, and need to find some heavier weights to replace the stock 15g ones.

Looks awesome all blacked out, love that murdered out look.

So the Odyssey S2S Tri-Hot Rossie SB came in today. It’s got the same great Mid Pistol grip that was on the center shafted S2S Tri-Hot Rossie. The Tri-Hot Dual ai face looks and feels fantastic. The setup just feels more natural with the SB look. I can’t wait to get it on course, unfortunately that will likely need to wait til Sunday. But maybe I’ll get out for some practice before then. Until then enjoy some pics:

That looks really good. Wow. The grip looks great too.

SS 5.0 grip installed this weekend.

Looking for heavier weights for it now, hard to find in the 25+ gram size.

Maybe have to look at the lead tape option, even though I'm not crazy about how it looks. But they do make black now, so it will disappear.

After my struggles with my putter at Hidden Creek last week I had a round today where I struggled to make anything more than 6 or so feet. I burnt the edge on my 1st eagle from 8 feet and missed a couple of 10 foot birdie putts by just an inch or 3.

Distance control was absolutely on though so at least I didn’t 3 putt but a couple of times early in the round as I was getting used to the slower speeds of the greens again.
Do you have a SB version now?

So I have had this putter since July 1 and I feel this is the best I have been putting in a long long time. It has been especially helpful inside 10 feet where I feel I am doing better:

Compared to 2025 til I got the S2S SB putter in 2026:

Stats are clearly showing a big increase in makes from that 3-6 feet range which I feel is huge.

Second night playing with the SB last night, and it does look closed at address.
I seemed to be pulling the putts left of the target.

Any setup changes I should be doing? Ball forward? Ball back?

Only played 18 holes with it so far, but I'm liking everything else about it.

Mine looks closed at address as well, but I'm certain it is square. I think you just have to trust it and not adjust your stroke cause it looks off.

That look is what stopped me from seriously considering this putter. I couldn’t get past it

Taking it out for 18 tomorrow morning, going to give it a go and see how it does.

I'll have old faithful on standby if things don't work out.

While my tee game is in shambles the distance control on my putting with the S2S Tri-Hot SB Rossie is stellar. I was rolling the rock really well nuzzling the ball up to the hole nicely. If only there weren’t so many shots before the lay putts 🥲

Played 18 today with the Jailbird SB in the bag the entire round.
Greens were fast and very sloped, so it was a good test of the speed and aim.
It performed very well, I don't think "old faithful" would have fared any better.

Really loving the blacked out look of the Jailbird SB, still waiting on heavier weights, and my 5.0 grip feels natural.

The more I have used the SB Tri-Hot Jailbird, the more comfortable I'm getting.
The setup is very easy, the face has no rotation to it, and the insert puts a really good roll on the ball.

Only issue I'm having is distance control, the Ai-Dual insert is soft compared to the Ai-One in my other putter. So getting used to it has been a little work, but it's getting better with time.

Found some 25g weights, on backorder, but hoping to see them by the end of the month.

My putting was literally looking pretty good again today. Distance control is really going well now with the S2S Tri-Hot DB Rossie. Super confident on the greens currently which is a new feeling that i really enjoy!

My green reading was off today, but the Jailbird SB was hitting my lines perfectly.
Really getting used to the feel the more I use it. Just needs a little more weight in the head, but I'm liking what I'm seeing.

And it looks damn sexy too.

Another good putting day yesterday.
Had our annual Member/Member tournament, and the Jailbird SB didn't let me down.
My partner and I won the net..........and the putting was a strong part of it.

Put some lead tape on the bottom of the putter this week, might have to remove some.
Got the weight up, but it seems to be a little "un-zero torqued"

Got the heavier weights in over the weekend, 25g each (stock are 15g).
Those along with a little black tungsten tape, and I have the head weight back to what my Ai-One JB was at.

Found that I had to keep the tape as close to the front of the head as possible, or the balance was thrown off.
I had put strips in the small cavities on the bottom of the putter, but they went back too far and the club didn't sit "neutral". Once i cut them down and moved the weight the front as much as possible, the balance came back and all was good again.
