Odyssey S2S Tri-Hot SB Putters

Got the heavier weights in over the weekend, 25g each (stock are 15g).
Those along with a little black tungsten tape, and I have the head weight back to what my Ai-One JB was at.

Found that I had to keep the tape as close to the front of the head as possible, or the balance was thrown off.
I had put strips in the small cavities on the bottom of the putter, but they went back too far and the club didn't sit "neutral". Once i cut them down and moved the weight the front as much as possible, the balance came back and all was good again.
Glad that you got it to a weight that feels more natural to you. The Rossie SB is working so well for me that I haven't had to adjust anything. Speed control with it has been stellar the last few times out and the confidence on the greens is up as well. Really enjoying this putter.

I'm still debating putting an All-In retro shaft in it....................but I'm holding off to make sure I like the putter.
Maybe over the winter it will happen.

The S2S Tri-Hot SB Rossie got it's toughest test to date at Ballyhack the last few days and it definitely came through for me. There were times where I struggled with the pace but overall it was a very nice 3 rounds of putting. I burned a couple edges on some longer putts and made enough of the ones that you expect to make to keep me feeling really good about my pairing with this putter. The roll the Rossie puts on the ball is fantastic. The softer insert works really well for me with the Pro V1x ball. I feel that I am hitting my intended start line better now than I have at any point in the past which I contribute to the putter completely. The putter just wants the head to stay stable. It's fantastic.

Now that I have the head weight where I want it, the putter is starting to work well for me.
I'm hitting my lines, speed is very good, and I'm seeing that I need to read greens better.
The insert is a little on the soft side, but it only took a few holes to adjust to it.
I was thinking about the All-In shaft, but I'm going to leave this one alone.

Very happy with the putter as it is right now.

Very nice. I vote you go All-In over the winter lol.

That was my plan................but the all black shaft from Odyssey looks pretty good as is.

Yea it definitely does. I'm biased lol. The All In I put in my OG S2S is just great.

I have it in my other 2 Ai-Ones, so chances are high it will end up in this one too
I mean, it's already in my Ebay watch list :sneaky:

I might be joining this party…

Been super reading all your experiences with it.

I have a Scotty Phantom 7.5 2024. I picked up a ‘tri hot’ in the pro shop at Moortown GC. I think it was a 7 CS. It just felt so smooth and connected and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. That was 3 weeks ago.

I went to American Golf and tried the Jailbird CS and 7 SB just on the floor in the shop. 7 SB felt less smooth and less connected than the Jailbird.

I’ve got a light fitting on Monday at American Golf where I’m going to try mine, the 7 SB, Jailbird CS and an Ai Dual S2S (mainly to sense check probably rule it out) and then a proper fitting with trackman for all the data (I like data) where I get fit for all my clubs. They’ve got the CS and SB in both the Jailbird and 7. I feel like the 7 SB will be ruled out at the first fitting.

One of my issues is 30ft+ putts, I’m trying on the green after deciding which one is best for start line, roll etc with the trackman.

I do geek out on the process and data. I love it.

I feel like a Jailbird is going to be where I end up, but no idea whether CS or SB.

Anyone else gone from a standard fang to either CS or SB Tri hot? Would be keen to hear experiences and anything to watch out for.

Center Shaft just doesn't work for me, I much prefer the look and feel of a heal shaft putter.

My previous putter was a Ai-One #7 Double Bend, and I really liked it but was seeing some head movement in my swing.
The Single Bend Jailbird seems to have fixed that by taking the torque out of the swing.

Interesting. The head movement is what I notice with the Scotty and think seems much less reduced on the tri hot from what I’ve tried so far. Intriguingly the 7 SB I didn’t feel felt as solid/connected as the jailbird CS. Hmm

I think my experiment with the TriHot SB Jailbird has come to an end. I absolutely love the look of the putter and the feel off the face. I just find it really easy to manipulate with my hands and that leads to missing a lot of sub 4ft putts.

Over the last 10 rounds…

I have missed so many 4-6 ft putts it’s unreal. Strokes gained probably looks better than it feels because I had 1 round where the putter was on fire and I was making everything to the tune of 26 putts that round but the average has been 35-38. I have a lot of face rotation in my putting stroke and the zero torque seemed to make that worse instead of better

I feel infinitely more connected with a CS Jailbird over any other ZT putter I've tried, including a bunch of the newer heel-oriented versions. Just works for my eyes visually.

Conversely, my son like the SB and has really seen impressive results. He hates a CS look.

I do love a new gear rabbit hole.

I’m not sure the SB or CS bothers me too much. I just want the connected, smooth feel you mention. And then hopefully the data backs it up!

Drop a UST Mamiya All-In shaft in there and it's like an extension of your body lol. I can't get this thing out of my bag and I've tried.

I’ve never messed with shafts. I’ve always trusted the fitter. I’d never thought of being able to do it with a putter. I’ll do some research

It's hard to explain, and there are plenty of people that will say it's not worth it, but I personally love the All-In.

I’m just hopeful the data backs up my wishes of having a tri hot haha
I have no doubt you'll see a very nice roll on the ball. That insert is very good at that.

So, no data last night. Just a visio laser and backboard.
Tried Jailbird CS, 7 SB, a spider and bettinardi vs my phantom 7.5

Jailbird was by a mile the most stable. I still want to try the SB version and the 7 CS for completeness. But I kept going back to the jailbird everytime and my Scotty just feels less substantial in weight, control, address. Everything. My Scotty wasn’t bad by the way, still putting well, but it doesn’t feel anywhere near as stable.

I basically want the data and the long putts to confirm I need a jailbird at this point.

I am very intrigued to the jailbird SB and 7 CS, to see whether they feel any different better or worse. Anyone else tried the varied shafts on same heads?

I have two CS Jailbirds (Tri Hot and original S2S) and a Jailbird SB.

We are all different, but it's not really a contest for me. The CS dominates in every way. These are only my feelings alone, but I think the SB version is for people that can't do center-shafted, but still want some ZT in their life. It's not 100% the same thing in my experience. You have to set up a bit further off the ball and I think that changes the stroke and the visual.

@Hawk thank you! That is the insight I was looking for.

Having tried the 7SB I’m expecting the Jailbird SB to be somewhere between the 7SB and Jailbird CS.

Amazingly, I have no issue at all with the CS on Jailbird. I didn’t feel it was in the way at all. I definitely didn’t like the Spider with the shaft so much further back, that looked so bizarre to my eye.

Proper fitting delayed to 21st so it’s daylight and the green is okay. They’ve just spiked it haha but I’m travelling 90mins each way for it so I can’t just pop in. The fitter knows where I’m at and has a plan for the fitting to test whether any of them are better for me than the Scotty.

Exciting and interesting! Sorry if I’m boring anyone as I go deep into the rabbit hole
