Off Course is back this week with a fantastic show and this is episode 278. Hosted by Dan Edwards, each Friday he gives you a deep look into the world of golf and equipment in a way unlike any other podcast has done before. Today, Founders and Partners of Turtleson, Greg and Chet, join the show in a unique conversation about refining years of apparel into the brand and creating and maintaining an identity.

It wouldn’t be Off Course without some tangents, but Dan, Greg and Chet dive into many topics including the material difference and durability as well as the Standwell collar and what makes it unique. This show has a lot going on and is one you will not want to miss as Turtleson goes Off Course.

Episode 278 is here and Dan, Greg and Chet discuss the following topics and a whole lot more.

Refining Years of Apparel into Turtleson
Creating and Maintaining an Identity
Material Difference and Durability
The Standwell Collar
Chasing Trends and Looking to the Future
And so much more

You can listen to the show right here, Apple Podcasts or anywhere you do your listening and downloading from, including Spotify and more. Search for the Hackers Paradise and make sure to subscribe so you never miss an episode. After listening, come back over and drop us a note below on what you agree and/or disagree with from the episode. If you get a chance, drop us a review wherever you listen from and let others know what you think of the show and/or channel.

Off course is now available in video as well. Tune into the THPGolf YouTube Channel, jump into the video and watch the interaction between Dan and his guests each week rather than just listen.

I really hope you guys enjoy listening to this one as much as I did recording it.

The passion that Chet and Greg have for their brand and their community is awesome.

I am all for great new apparel brands! Love that they have UGA embroidery available as well as other schools. Will def keep my eye on them. Turning on the podcast now on my way to work

My club had Turtleson sponsor our polos and q-zips for our Annual Pro-Am event this past June. All the members that have not had any Turtleson apparel come away pleasantly surprised by the material and the fit.

Queuing this one up now. Love learning about brands that are not on my radar.

I have seen some of there gear love there logo I am in for a listen today for sure.

Never would have thought Peter Millar originated from Bristol, Tenn. Cool fact.

Seems like they are really excited to step into the NCAA space - and I am sure that unlocks an insane amount of interest.

Hoping they fall into the MLB space at some point as well!

Always love hearing about a great company in my hometown that puts the community at the forefront of what they do!

The laundry/maintenance of the clothes was spot on. AS someone who only hangs dries my clothes, I hate when the collar doesn't bounce back or get some piling on them. Good to know they are aware of that and considering when creating their designs.

Great question, @Canadan - "Does Bristol have an impact on product?"

Honestly, it's probably difficult to model a high-end golf lifestyle brand after the identity of what is the epitome of blue collar America...but I respect their refusal to be followers. The part about camo is a perfect example - if they embraced the camo trend, they would probably sell more product here in NE Tennessee - but if you want to survive, you have to establish your own identity that also appeals to a broad range of consumers.

But...if you want to put out product that appeals to the local identify - just pump out stuff in Pantone 151 (Tennessee Orange) and put the UT logos on it...because everyone wears orange here on Saturdays, especially during football season. You might be talked about in church on Sunday if you don't. :ROFLMAO:

Found a Turtelson polo on our local Facebook marketplace. It was basically new.

I will now be buying more Turtleson polos. Holy cow they're comfortable.

the one Turtleson polo I own is my second least favorite of everything I own

The part about the collar stays made me laugh, because I'm obsessive about them. I even have a particular pair of copper ones that I keep in my dopp kit that were given to me by a dry cleaner when I was on a business trip in D.C. I had forgotten to put them back in my shirts when I packed...and I'm a little OCD about some things.

I stopped in and asked if I could get a pair of the plastic ones, and she gave me the copper set she had...I was so grateful.

Yeah, that's incredibly cool. I feel like if it was my hometown, it'd be the only brand I wore haha

Full on bias.

what about them do you like?

If double pleated pants are making a comeback, that must mean early 2000s Tiger Woods is making a comeback. 🔥

I would triple down on joggers if pleats start showing up again.

The collar is great. My favorite golf polos have collars that sit flat and you don't have to worry about, but it also doesn't feel stiff - if that makes sense?

The fabric feels comfortable/breathable on my skin. I don't like wearing undershirts.

The button seems to be in the perfect place. I like the pattern. It was just a great find for 3 bucks and now I can comfortably spend more knowing I'm getting quality.

it does make sense. And I love that they have found what works for them to keep a collar looking good for a long time.

This was a great listen while on this flight. Chet and Greg seem like fantastic people, and their love for what they do is very apparent.

I kinda wish this hadn’t dropped just after I went hard in a pro shop, but what can you do?

I don’t know that I have ever seen their stuff in person. I’ll have to look for it when. I’m in the right spot for it to be present.

Listened this morning and enjoyed it! Checked that Bellfield piece online and it looks nice.

my exposure to the brand is pretty limited so far. The volunteer polo for the local KFT tournament has been Turtleson the last couple years. Sizing is a bit weird for me. I go medium usually but went small both years for a better shoulder fit and less boxy torso fit. Collars are really good though. And fabric is nice.

I love that they are doing more with natural fibers and hope they can come up with a breakthrough natural performance fabric. Willing tester right here! 😀

It took me several days to be able to watch through this episode, but I'm so glad I circled back. Great episode and I am loving what I am hearing (and seeing) from Turtleson. Love their commitment to excellence and looking forward to adding my first ever piece from their company.
