I work from home and get calls on my home phone (office line) all day. We have our phone via the cable company and it has never caused a problem really. We had Vonage originally, but it kept having problems.

Here is where I need suggestions. I am looking at getting a different VOIP service that can handle small business applications. I looked at SoftPhone, but that is too robust for what I want. Anybody using a good phone system for small business?

Please dont say skype. The call quality and echos are abysmal compared to most of these small business models.

I can't help you with an alternative because my wife uses Vonage for the business lines since we have our home phone through the cable company like you do. But this is a VOIP provider preview site (I really didn't look it over real well, but I hope it helps): http://www.voipreview.org/
