Why do the Phillies always struggle against soft toss pitchers?
They are who we thought they were? And will Rhys Hoskins ever hit a homer?

Your thoughts?
As a baseball fan, I appreciate a lot of the unwritten rules. But this irks me.

Unwritten rules are for people who want participation trophies just for showing up. It's their own fault for getting in that position to begin with. If people aren't going to play the game for a full 9 innings with appropriate effort you might as well institute a mercy rule and just give up. Taking it easy on them because they are down by a lot should be more offensive and insulting to them. It's not like I've never seen a team score 10 runs in an inning before.

I knew the Sox were going to be down this year but never dreamed they would be this bad.

The Tribe (my PC name for the guys in Cleveland that play a game one a diamond) is heating up... seems like its been a slugfest lately, probably attributable to the "talented" teams we have played most recently.

Batting averages are still way down.

This happened physically and on the scoreboard in today’s doubleheader.

CWS RHP Lucas Giolito holding the Pirates hitless through 8. Seeing as it's the Pirates, if he completes the no-no, does it get an asterisk?

Two down, one to go

I'm about 90 seconds behind on XM. As I type this there is one out.

Woo!! Great game by Lucas. Only base runner came from a walk. No hitter with 100 pitches and 13 strikeouts. Absolute gem

He did it, and in 101 pitches. Quite an accomplishment, even against the Pirates. And years from now, no fans will be able to say they were there

There goes the Phillies game tonight. Was looking forward to the Spencer Howard / Max Scherzer pitching matchup. Should give Nola another day of rest following his 113 pitch outing yesterday.

Sorry but making ALL the players wear #42 is stupid and time to move on from. I mean are they still going to be forced to wear #42 100 years from now? Ridiculous

Phillies getting hott.... of course i said this a week ago and they lost 4 in a row. so hopefully i don't jinx them again...lol

Last night’s game was weird. 10-0 became 10-8 and they lost 12-10. Weird. But Hoskins is swinging a hot bag right now!

Rangers trade one of their top pitchers (Minor), their catcher that they just got back (Chirinos), and the ToddFather (who they had for about 35 games). In return they got minor league prospects, players to be named later, and some cash. Guess they're hanging it up for this year. (n)⚾

Aaron Nola with a gem tonight, top prospect Bohm with his second career homer, Hoskins stays hot, and the Phillies draw 9 walks. 16-15 and over .500 for the first time this season!
