I know you're joking but technically, Liriano is our 5 starter too. Has been since the start of the year.

Even though he threw Winter ball in the Dominican, and had a good spring, Gardy still figured to put him at the 5 spot to ease him in better.

He's obviously our best pitcher, however.

I didn't even know he was your 5th starter. Most of the guys I know on the Twins are position players, not pitchers.

I'm a big fan of Mauer's though. Great player and guy.

Well, the Twins do have a better lineup than pitching staff.

And there are rumblings of Mauer possibly going on the DL, like tomorrow.

He tweaked his ankle when he caught the first baseman's foot on the bag Friday in Cleveland.

Our 180 million dollar man on the DL. Oh boy. I don't know if I could handle hearing all the fans here in Minny gripe about that.

So the Mets WERE hot until they ran into the Phils. Santana was ROCKED today as the Phils score another ten runs or make that eleven actually. They look good.

Hey thanks, are you ok? Was that you that got tased last night during the Philly game? :D

Don't tase me bro!

Im loving this video from Philly last night. I love the way the guy drops once he gets hit.

Ubaldo Jimenez looked nasty again last night. I saw part of the game and he was still hitting the upper 90s in the 7th. He should be right there at the end of the year with Licecum and Halladay in the Cy Young voting.

haha! that was fantastic, i hadn't seen that yet. it's never a good idea to mix to much alcohol with a stadium and tasers.

I saw the video on ESPN and the guy that ran out actually asked permission from the dad first and the dad was like "not a good idea but..."

If my son ever calls me to run out on the field like that I'd tell him that whatever he wants to do he can do but don't expect me to bail him out though... and laugh my a$$ off if he got tased.

Obviously the kid was in the wrong to do what he did but do cops really need to be tasing people for it?

My goodness. I think cops use those things too much the way it is, but you've got half a dozen people running after the kid, it's in a ballpark so it's not like he's going to get away, and he posed no real threat.

So again, why did he need to be tased?

Looks like he is wearing compression shorts. He probably could of gone for a while.

He should have never been on the field. Period. End of story.

Whatever he gets from being on the field is deserved. Whether that is a bodyslam, taser, knightstick, bat, etc. He is lucky that Milton Bradley wasn't on deck. He would have probably beat him with the bat. Was he a threat? Probably not. If nothing else, maybe it keeps the next idiot from running onto the field.

You got that 100% right. Its funny that people complain about how the police handle it and almost every case it is dealing with someone doing something that they just should not be doing.

I agree that he shouldn't have been on the field but this isn't a third world country where just whatever goes and authority figures can do whatever they feel necessary to you.

Even they need to held in check.

Again, it wasn't necessary and an example of poor judgement used by the officer.

IMO.

Well said!!!

I think some people who post on this board need to be tased once in a while. Might do them ( and the rest of us) some good!!!

Now that right there is funny. I agree that I saw nothing wrong with it. Follow the rules and it would not have happened.

they just need to fine people for doing things like this. in australia, you run out on the pitch and get caught it's a huge fine. the 25k fine will usually keep people in their seats.

What would have been the proper course of action? Should they have 2 officers try and grab him by the arm and gently escort him off the field with a good scolding? Heaven forbid anything happens to the criminal. A taser was probably better than if a couple guys actually got a hold of him.

Agreed, if they keep tasing them eventually the idiots will quit running onto the field. If they enter the field of play they have to be considered a threat regardless. I'll bet Monica Seles and that Royals first base coach didn't see anything wrong with this schmuck getting tased.

I agree with you on this one TC. Hurt them where it hurts most and most often than not it's their wallet. (Unless Donald Trump decides to go on the field)

the year was 2001, the venue was at stadium australia in sydney, the australia wallabies were playing the new zealand all blacks (rugby), there was 110,000 people there, and my best friend in college did a runner. he spent the night in jail and was fined 25K, he'll never do that again.

Remember Morganna the kissing bandit? She went after George Brett several times!

But I agree, the dude deserved to be tazed just for being out there. As MO pointed out, you never know what they are gonna do out there.

just got out of jail....lawsuit pending

Spoiler
i'm kidding

+1000 you can't take any more chances and give these guys any benefit of the doubt

Philly Justice was served! lol
