A while back my friend and I played a round with only our 7 iron (tin cup style). Back then I was shooting in the mid to high 80s. I ended up with an 88, so pretty on par with my handicap at the time.

That was cool! I haven't done it since I was a teenager...we played 9 holes with nothing but a PW at twilight...it was really fun and we had to be creative.

I have not but I’d probably use 7i. Thinking of my home course there’s only 3-4 holes I couldn’t reach in regulation. A couple of the shorter par 5’s would be interesting. I think it would be best to lay back to full 7i into the green with the second shot rather than try to hit a hundred yard 7i into the green. Unless I could get within 30-40 yards or so I think I’d rather hit a full 7.
Would definitely require more thinking than normal and I’d want to spend a range session first as it’s not a club I hit anything other than full shots with.
