Anyone ever hit one of these shafts? I had the pleasure of playing a Bridgestone J33R Driver with a Ozik Matrix stiff shaft and I absolutely loved it. I am wondering if anyone else has hit these and what your reaction or thoughts on them are. I know they are very pricey, is there anything out there that compares on a more realistic budget?

Thanks in Advance

ive hit the Callaway FT-i LCG with that shaft in it. i liked it, but actually preferred the Fujikura Speeder with that head. i also hit that Adams A4 driver with that shaft in it. It is definitely a nice shaft.

Isn't that the new shaft everyone that everyone was drooling over at the PGA show?

i honestly dont know

I have had the pleasure of hitting it with a number of drivers. It did not fit my swing well. I actually compared them head to head with the GD Tour AD and preferred the Tour AD. But shafts are so different for every person.

It has been out for a while now.

I think you may be referring to the one named after a Scotch. Odan or something?

Oban is the one you are referring to. Great guys.

osahar, to be honest I'm not sure if it was the new one that is on tour or not, all I know is it felt better and stiffer than the current shaft I have. I wasn't spraying it everywhere and I swing rather easy on drives and was managing 280-300 drives where I was aiming up at for the most part. I wish I could translate this into irons.

i wish i could hit drives 280-300. lucky

I currently play two of them and they are by far the best shafts I've played so far.

Matrix strives to be the best shafts ever manufactured hence some of their pricing. They use very expensive materials in their shafts.

Many of their shafts have a softer feeling then some prefer and that's why some don't care for them.

Please get fitted for the proper shaft. These shafts are not good to just experiment with. When people do not get fitted and just buy one, they end up not liking it and bad mouth them

That's right...thanks WSE & JB. Confused the two names.

there a few different types of ozik shafts. i have hit the xcon 6, the xcon special edition f6m2, and the code 6. i prefer the f6m2 because it gives a lower ball flight and has a medium tip firmness, unlike the code 6 which has a stiffer tip. the xcon 6 didnt work well for me but thats just because its a high launch shaft. i do agree with biglefty about the feel, matrix makes softer shafts which i really like. if you dont have a pricetag you are looking for, the ozik shafts are incredible. dont forget though, even though they cost so much, they may not work for you, so get fitted. chances are you will be delighted to find out that a cheaper shaft works best for you, hence you save a lot of money
