I had the pleasure of playing a round at Pine Forest Country Club in west Houston last Sunday. This is one of the nicest private clubs in the area. I have been to a few weddings and events hosted here but have never played golf. I drive by here nearly every day and look through the fence at the beautiful course and dream of teeing it up. This place is an absolute gem with tall mature trees and perfectly groomed lush fairways and fast smooth greens.

You can see the dew on the ground when we teed off at 8 am. We had a rare June cool front move through the area and the humidity levels were low and it was a perfect weather day to play golf.

Ed and Karen Summers were my host and rolled out the red carpet for me and my wife Carol. Carol does not play golf but enjoys the scenery and points out a lot of things that I would miss being focused on golf. The bunkers were fluffy and just perfect.

Here is 67 year old Ed walking the round putting us youngsters to shame.

Ed and Karen's beautiful house on the picturesque par three sixth hole.

As you can see this is an absolutely beautiful 27 hole golf course and the clubhouse facilities are impeccable. After the round we had a nice lunch and said our goodbyes. Pine Forest is having a membership drive currently and offering a generous discount off of the initiation fee. I have played a lot of very nice courses with my ClubCorp Play away program and this place right in my backyard is nicer than any of them.

Dang, that’s nice. If I was in the area I would love to belong there.

Looks like a great round! Thanks for sharing those great pictures!

Great pictures of a beautiful course.

I am in the area and I want to belong there. Its just money right?

Thanks for the write up and pictures Dan. Having played that course several times, you always have something new pop up during your round you didn't see before. The course doesn't seem like it, but it will eat your lunch if you are not ready for it. Glad you got to play a round there.

Played there a handful of times thanks to my brother, none very recently though. Last time there i saw a 10 foot gator just lounging in the sun right next to the water on one of the 9th holes (gold course i think).

Is the generous discount on the initiation like good rebates on a 50K Chevy Truck or good rebates on 150K Mercedes AMG?:ROFLMAO:

I have heard that there are some great deals going on in the Houston area though. My boss's son was getting ready to join at Champions. He held off a week which is when the oil and covid struck. He's glad he decided to wait now as he works in the oil industry.

Thank you! Dan just sent this over to me and I'm really glad he enjoyed our course! I'm including a link to PFCC's membership information.

kind of like winning the lottery, right? just dreaming...

That looks incredible. Thanks for sharing the photos with us!

That was one of my favorite courses when I lived out off barker cypress in the early 90’s. Not long by any means but youve gotta hit your spots. Love it @badolds

That place looks outstanding! Thank you for sharing!
