PING G440 Drivers, Fairways and Hybrids

I would be astounded if you didn’t like it. It’s incredibly forgiving and low spin. And it protects the left miss like just about nothing else.
I hit the Max really well, about 240ish carry, 260ish total. Slight draw. My miss is usually a hard left however I very rarely miss with the Max.

I go on a lot of golf trips, I never feel comfortable not having a back up head/driver. Right now I have a ZXi driver 9 degree that I started off hitting okay but never really found consistency with. I did hit my friends G430 LST pretty well.

I ordered it without hitting it lol.......I plan on selling the ZXi.

The G440 Max 9W continues to be a true rescue club. Collin Morikawa said in an interview not too long ago that it's like having a 200 yard PW. He's not wrong.

I was in some deep rough yesterday, about 195 out on a par 5, I chopped at it with my 9 wood and it popped out and flew high and at the green. Ended up about 10 yards short for an easy up and down par.

***(My 4 utility iron comes out of the bag when I play the 9 wood. This is entirely course dependent)

Thinking about adding G440 7w & 9w to my bag. Just need to find time to hit a demo somewhere.

Yesterday the G440 LST shined. I felt like I couldn't get a good swing on any ball off the tee. For all my efforts to put a mediocre swing with it and the amount of territory I covered on the face, I could really see the forgiveness factor shine thru. I thought the g430 LST had pretty good forgiveness but I would say the G440 actually improves on this. I'll continue to say that I don't get the most ball speed or distance with Ping drivers but I hit a lot more fairways on crappy swings.

Interesting that the robot videos show the 440 lst to be more faded biased than the 430. The 430 lst has probably been the longest a driver has stayed in my bag since 2012 and in all honesty should probably still be here

The 440 lst definitely sounds and feels way beater than the 430 which wasn’t bad at all. Hopefully Ping sticks with this going forward. I won’t be surprised if the 440 makes it into my bag at some point during its cycle

Played a course yesterday that has some holes I normally don't hit driver on, so got to test out the 3 wood a little more in a course setting.

Off the tee it's pretty easy to hit and although it's not effortless, it's pretty forgiving. Coming from a g425 and then a stealth plus the feel/shape is much better than the g425 but it's nowhere near the distance and ball speed of the stealth - which isn't surprising since it's a different type of 3 wood.

There was only one hole that I had to use it off the turf, and I'm still not always comfortable using a 3 wood off the turf. With the club behind the ball, I did feel some confidence as previous 3 woods from Ping I always thought I was gonna scoop right under the ball 🤣. I wish I could tell you I hit a 285 yard pissle off the deck, but I can't - it did however get up in the air and went my normal distance. And that was a win for me!

Still absolutely love the driver and I'm still seeing some lower launch and what seems to be lower spin on the course. I'm going to try and stick in the ventus tr blue to see if that helps me get some higher launch angles. But all in all I look forward to hitting this off the tee

I got my new G440 Driver and 4 wood yesterday and got a couple of range sessions in. I'm still trying to get comfortable with the 4 wood. I just struggle hitting the long clubs off the ground ut tonight I felt like I made progress and figured some things out. Still a work in progress and I need to get used to the much different sound than my previous G425 when I find the center of the face. The G440 fairway is just so much more muted.

The driver on the other hand is a game changer for me. I've never hit a driver so consistently as this one. Part of it may be the tour chrome shaft is the just the right fit for me but I'm finding the center better than I ever have and I was hitting a nice big draw on most shots at the range. I got the 10.5 head and I think turning it down to the small minus setting may be the perfect fit for me since the club launches so high at the range.

The G440 LST has really pushed the Titleist to the backup. It’s just point and click these days. I feel super happy with it. Sometimes I think maybe I couldve gotten away with the max head, but this is definitely one of the more forgiving LS heads out there.

17* G440 fairway is a rocket. A very forgiving rocket.

Awesome to hear your squaring up the driver and hitting it well!

Still adjusting to the tempo I need for the fairway wood but I hit some nice ones today. I just need to get used to the sound. If I hit it low on the face or in the center it just sounds the same to me and I can only tell I thinned it by seeing the low launch.

Very happy with my choice to dump the 4i for a G440 5H Hybrid. Can hit it from anywhere with confidence it's going where I point it.

Question for those that have been using the LST or Max driver - have any of you seen your spin numbers go up with this?

I'm still amazed with some of the spin numbers I'm seeing on all hits across the face, along with the L/R dispersion.

Amazed in a good way or bad way with the spin numbers?

Good way. I've always been a high spin player off the tee. I was wondering if everyone else is see low spin numbers as well.

When I tested the 440 lst I was seeing higher spin numbers than a few other heads and a bit more than my 430 lst . Loved the sounds and feel though, I’m sure at some point one will be in my bag but might not be until next year

Thanks for sharing that. Crazy how different clubs can react to different swings. This is the first LST I've had consistent below 2500 spin since the g400 LST

I game the G430 in driver, 3W, 5W, and 7W. I recently purchased a G440 9W to replace my 5 hybrid. I really like it but I had to increase loft on the 440. It seems a lot hotter off the face than the 430’s. Has anyone else had this experience?

Faster faces were a feature on the G440 release.

I'm seeing a bit more ball speed on my driver but that probably is related to my lower spin numbers. I however am seeing faster ball speed and more carry distance in my 3 wood with similar spin numbers. But not sure if that's due to the face or just the CG being different in the 440 wood series than the 430

I have a 17.5⁰ G425 5 wood. My 17⁰ G440 carries 9 yards further than it did. It must be hotter because 1/2⁰ sure didn't do it.
