I found the Denali has a kick - you may or may not like it.

After getting and really loving the G440 irons, I really wanted to love the G440 Max driver too. My club had a demo for me to try out and I was able to play three rounds with it and also spent about four hours tinkering with on the range. Despite trying different shafts and flexes and toying with the loft I could never really get it to work for me. The only -- and I mean only -- shot I could hit with it was a fade. Normally I can get my drivers to go fairly straight unless I put a really bad swing on it. Not with the G440 Max. Only with the most stupidly closed stance could I get something even remotely straight out of it and even then it was not a guaranty. The not so great shots moved from fade to slice territory. Also I was not hitting it any longer than my old XHot driver. I would definitely try before you buy.

When my wrist is cupped, I can't hit any driver except to the right. It's a swing issue.

Same setup I’m running.

Edit: Except the shafts.

interested in how they work for you.

440 LST driver remains a force in my bag.

I really like them feel and look great
im
Not swinging the best
alot of forgiveness built in
Im going to try and play a few after work tomorrow test them so more
So far im happy with them
Distance is good

Just played my 2nd round with the LST. I just find it amazing. The miss hits are more forgiving on both distance and dispersion than the 440 Max.

The G440 LST is officially on the Rushmore of Ping Clubs for me.

Question for those that have been using the LST or Max driver - have any of you seen your spin numbers go up with this?

I'm still amazed with some of the spin numbers I'm seeing on all hits across the face, along with the L/R dispersion.
Just bought the Max. Lower spin numbers than my gamer is one of the reasons why.

Was fit into the G440 Max 3W in my fitting at CC and man that club is a beast. It was neck and neck between it and the GT1, but the Max edged it out honestly on comfort/feel. Was seeing distances well beyond my current Elyte Ti 4W cranked down to 15.5˚. Cannot wait to get this club on the course and see what it can do.

I got my new G440 Driver and 4 wood yesterday and got a couple of range sessions in. I'm still trying to get comfortable with the 4 wood. I just struggle hitting the long clubs off the ground ut tonight I felt like I made progress and figured some things out. Still a work in progress and I need to get used to the much different sound than my previous G425 when I find the center of the face. The G440 fairway is just so much more muted.

I have a G430 Max 5 wood that I am considering returning (new in plastic). I wanted the 4 wood loft (17*), and do traditionally struggle elevating my 3/4 woods off the deck. Zero issues off the tee. Lofting the 430 down one degree to get the distance I want, has me leaning towards the right side on my shots, when I draw every single club in my bag. I am wondering if going to the 440 4 wood in stock setting, to get the shot shape and distance I want, is, at the same time, going to cause elevation issues again off the deck. Between the 440 Max and 430 Max fairways, Is there that much difference in face height? Spin?

I've not had issues elevating my 4W at all. The 4W is the same length as the 3W if that is a consideration for you.

I haven't really put it on a launch monitor since I've gotten it and I have the Tour Chrome shaft. I feel like it is pretty low spin for me when I'm at the range with high launch. My real world course experience is limited with maybe using it 1-2 times a round and I tend to have more of a fade on the course.

Overall I'm happy with it and I have 3 and 4 hybrid next down the line. I don't think a 5W makes sense for me and I'm not sure where a 7W would go and which hybrid it replaces but I feel like I hit the 4W better than my hybrids right now.

I ended up with the 4 wood so I wouldn't necessarily need to loft up and keep the head more square. To the ball instead of more closed or open inviting fade/draw spin. I also will use the 4 wood off the tee and fairway where as I don't always hit a flush shot off the deck with a 3 wood so the little bit smaller head and higher loft has helped. I also use a 1/2 inch shorter shaft too.

As far as face height there is to me a noticable difference but may not be to others. I find ping fairway woods to be very shallow but I love that on my 7 wood, hence why that G430 7 wood is still in the bag.

So after a bit of time with my G440 driver and trying to work on smoothng out my speed I'm starting to feel like the R flex tour chrome shaft is no longer a fit for me. My well hit balls are just not spinning enough. I was only getting around 2k with a 90 mph swing speed. Has anyone had any experience with the Denali Red shaft?

I also got to demo off of a used rack an Elyte standard with the stock Denali Charcoal 5.5 shaft and it was a marginal improvement. No ball speed increase but the spin was slightly over 3k. I also hit a QI35 Kaili Blue stiff shaft in it which was a 4-5 mph ball speed and distance increase with spin numbers closer to I was looking for.

I'd hate to spend the money on a QI35 driver right now so I'm hoping a shaft adjustment on my Ping will help. I'd just always hated the stock Alta shaft.

17⁰ G440 just refuses to be sent to the cottage bag by the GT2 18⁰. The GT2 is a freaking rocket when pured, but the G440 is just automatic. 10 or so yards shorter, but soooo consistent.

Demo's the Max 10K today with the 2.0 65X...man what a good driver. The ponderings begin.

Just bought one a little over a month ago with the Mitsubishi Kai'li White 60 shaft..... When I catch it, the ball just explodes off the face! It's like a cheat code.

Bit late to the party here, but I've found with these the correct shaft makes a world of difference. I was testing the driver, fw, and hybrid for another site. I was fit into the Tensei black, but was shipped the Alta Blue. With the blue I couldn't hit the fw over 200 yards and it was just going all over the place. When I went back and demo'd the Tensei at the range it was automatically a 250+ carry and in play.

Do you have a range/fitting location that will allow you to demo shafts? They usually only have the stock options but that should include the Denali Red.

In my experience, the shaft is just as important as the head.

You would think all shops would have all shaft options but they don't always when things break or they just don't have the full range. I wanted to hit a G440 7wood at the PGA store and they only had the Alta stiff in that length and I wanted to try a hybrid in the tour chrome R flex and they didn't have that either.

They look great and since my wife keeps threatening to take my 425 I might have a replacement. Maybe delay until the price drops though.

When I was getting fit at GG they didn't have a proper 5W or 4H shaft. I had to use the 3 versions and choke down on them.
