If PING is anything as a brand, it’s consistent, especially when it comes to release patterns. So when the G440 lineup of drivers dropped last year with four models, attentive golfers noticed the absence of one familiar head. It was the same omission we saw a year after the G430 drivers launched. That brings us […]

Glad to see this finally released to round out the 440 line - seems they’ve made marked differences from the last release for this one.

That's an interesting looking crown and while I've had PING products in the past, never a driver so them talking about the improved acoustics is something that I think a lot of people are going to be looking at based upon what I've heard from the community.

$705 for a Transformer looking sole. I’m usually a Ping driver fan but don’t like the look of this one. It’s time to drop the turbulators as well.

I played Ping drivers for the better part of the last decade. So I’m loving this thing, turbulators and all.
I’ve read a little bit about the early performance of this head and it is supposedly a great release. I’m sure it will be in The mix this year for one of the top heads.

I absolutely love my G430 10k. Which is good because I’m not ready to drop $763 (price after tax) on a new one. Breaking the $700 price barrier just hits different psychologically.

That’s me in the moment though.

I actually really like the look of this one minus the turbulators. 705 is stiff though.

Those that don't like PING will use their normal complaints and miss out on what could be an excellent driver. The rest of the G440 line has killer performance.

However, breaking the $700 mark is pyschologically big. I know a few others will be close this year, but wow.

This is one driver going to have to hit especially after all the fanfare since the Annika tournament. Not a big fan of the price but Ping equipment has never been at the low end.

Golf Galaxy says it is $649 on their website for preorders.

Looks are something I can get over if the results are really really good. Not shocked at the price but I guess it’s the first “stock” non aftermarket driver hit the 7

Yeah I could get over the turbulators for sure. I was wondering when we (the golf industry w/ drivers stock) would hit the 7 mark.

I haven’t personally gotten along with Ping drivers in the past. I like the look and the movable weighting, but I’m not sure why—out of this great new class of drivers and all the strong tech stories—this one really stands out to me as a must-try. To be honest, even @Jman's excellent writing was not enough to get me excited about this one. I am just not seeing what the hook is for this driver that pulls me to try it out.

Takes a lot to make them but that’s a massive number for a lot of people.

Wow breaking $700 is a lot. I like the use of the carbon fiber to save more weight. Overall I think the driver looks pretty nice, but I still hate the turbulators.

I'm sure it will perform great and it looks pretty good minus the turbulators. But my head literally snapped back when I saw $705. The psychology of cracking 700 hits different. There is a reason why companies use 699.99 instead.

I kind of like the look of the sole on this release. The face looks somewhat shallow to me (maybe it would look different in person) which is a no go for me. Plus a price tag over $700 definitely takes it out of the running. That's a pretty brutal price tag.

I am curious how it sounds with the carbon sole though.

The G430 Max 10K was a good driver, even at it's increased size, but over $700 for a driver feels like a bridge too far. I'll swing one at the shop, just to see if there is any smoke there, but nah...

HOLY PRICE BATMAN!

I enjoy the carbon on the sole and the looks but wish they would improve the crown... The big split between the matte carbon and turbulators is rough on the eyes. Would rather it all be 1 color.

Looks interesting. Ping doing Ping things

1000$ CAD, bravo Ping. It could have only been you. Lol

Sure. Ok.

My point is I don’t see anybody selling this as a $700 driver so I’m not sure if they changed their mind on pricing or what.
That price is MSRP, MAP is what is being shown.
The info we received from PING gave us the MSRP price, so that is what is in the article.
