PING G440K Driver: The Missing Piece Arrives

After a day of nearly concussing myself on a ski lift I am ready to head back home and hit these drivers. Watched a ton of videos today and am super impressed with the 440K from what I’m seeing. Like @GoodGriefMan mentioned above distance is probably going to be a few yards shorter than the competition and I don’t think a single video mentioned how FAST or LONG it was but the dispersion and accuracy was fantastic

The last Ping driver I hit was my first ever driver after starting golf with the G425 I do remember asking myself “dang do all drivers sound like this?” Glad the acoustics have been improved upon.

It’s going to be an absolute fitting bay war when I get back home

Hasn’t he always talked up Ping? Just recently started watching the Fully Equipped pod so don’t know what he’s liked in the past. I know he was REALLY excited about the K
 
True story, the #1 reason I play a GT3 is because I can hit it on my indoor simulator without going def! Pings of the past have been loud.. Hope this ones less loud.
 
I’ve had several Ping drivers over the years. Looks like I might be going back 🤷‍♂️

I can tell you it’s definitely more muted than prior models

That's how the G430 was in ffitting. I remember it came down to the TSR2 and the G430. The TSR2 had the fastest ball speed....but the dispersion on the PING was much better.

I was going to get a PowerCore shaft. But now I"m considering getting a G440k and putting my beloved LIN-Q Blue in it....sigh

I think I stopped at the G30. That club was loud and far, think it sounded similar to my 915D2. When I started playing again recently I heard the GT series, and the TM carbon face drivers I was amazed at how quiet drivers have gotten.

You’re welcome. I mean that in the kindest way possible.

The guy who has been doing all my fittings for the last 2 years knows what I’ve been chasing. It’s one of those things where with the clubs I hit and hit well that those stood out. But I sort of struggled with the miss. Being distance loss or what not. It’s what kept me out of the Cobra Max K after a test. Which is funny because I know that’s not the case for so many here. I’m weird.

I had two back to back bad swings. Ones that would’ve been trouble. The second one he just looked at me because it was ones that would’ve end up a heavy fade. They were cuts. It was the moment I needed.

Those that don't like PING will use their normal complaints and miss out on what could be an excellent driver. The rest of the G440 line has killer performance.

However, breaking the $700 mark is pyschologically big. I know a few others will be close this year, but wow.

It’s an adjustment every time I look at them. Don’t hate them but it seems like it’s time to move on lol
 
I think the initial $705 price point that was reported caused some panic and rightfully so. But $649 is right in line with other competitors which is a relief

I was basing that comment on what was in the article. I did not look to see retail pricing like others have.

Being a glutton I went back and looked at my last LST numbers. He was right, the K is faster than the LST.


What a year for drivers. Cobra has made their LS more forgiving and that’s special and Ping has made their most forgiving head faster than their LS head.
