A long term injury (too much computer mousing in the 90's, lol) is getting worse. I can only fold my trail wrist back about 5 degrees in the backswing. This is making the backswing very upright. Any suggestions on how to compensate for this? Thx.

Seriously, with such limited movement, and based on the guys I've known with a similar issue, I think you've got to give up the game. They were experiencing increased pain and lack of mobility.

I am not ready to throw in the towel. But, the thought sadly crossed my mind.

I hear you but all of us eventually end-up with injuries that prevent playing. Look at NFL players....many would love to play but can't. If you want to continue, then find a doc who can advise the long-term prospects.

Sorry to hear it. Wish I had something to add but just curious, have you considered the release surgery?

A friend did it and was back to full strength in a month or two.

Have tried physical therapy while laying off the golf for a while? My wife does a lot of computer typing and mousing. Her doctor told her to lay off the golf and go to physical therapy. The physical therapist also showed her how to change her keyboard and mouse setup to relieve her recurring issue.

Surgery was suggested by a hand surgeon. I just did not want to take a chance that it may make no difference.

Have you actually been diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel? I hurt myself on the range one day and my doctor insisted it was Carpal Tunnel. Back then I needed a referral to go to a specialist and I wasn't in the office of my sports ortho 15 seconds when he diagnosed a broken hook-of-hamate bone! I had initially fractured it which led to the constant pain typically associated with Carpal Tunnel until one day it totally broke off. Even knowing what he was looking for the ortho had a very difficult time seeing the break on an x-ray and I had to have other tests done to confirm it (MRI? / CT?) before being referred to a hand specialist for removal of the bone. I chose that as a more permanent solution as opposed to having a pin put in it.

yes, had x-rays 15yrs ago. Prob need to do it again. It has been manageable for years, now it's flared up

I deal with this year round. I wear a brace to sleep and work just so I can golf on the weekend
