Project X TITAN Black: Built for Speed, Stability, and Control

Going to be really curious to see how the Titan plays vs the HZRDUS black and yellow I've been used to over the years. Luckily have both of those able to put into my DS-Adapt Max K to test against.

Extremely intrigued by the Titan. Currently have a the HZRDUS Green Hulk TX 60g in my TSR2 gamer. Bought a Cobra DS Adapt Max K to toy around in the more forgiving market but it had a HZRDUS black in it.

The Cobra feels great but I’m just spinning it too much with the HZRDUS black. Swing speed isn’t anything crazy (112-115 when in midseason form) but for whatever reason, nothing can kick the HZRDUS green hulk out of the bag. I’ve tried things softer and I feel like I lose it off the tee. I’m a high launch, high spin player typically which is probably why the Hulk is tough to beat.

Extremely tempted to throw the Titan in the Cobra Max K and see if it gets my spin numbers down where I’d like. Anyone know how the Titan compares to the Hulk?
I also have a DS-Adapt Max K and I am also a high launch/high spin player in a similar swing speed too. For the Hulk, I just never cared for it and it always felt way too stiff to me even though it did a great job with the height and spin. So for the Titan, I am very interested in how this will feel to me compared to the HZRDUS that I have had really good success with (black and yellow). I am really hopeful in getting the height and spin in an even better window for me but keeping a better feel to it like Don has said in recent THP podcast. Its an extremely intriguing design to me.

If you want a lower spinning shaft that still has some bend that allows you to increase energy transfer to the ball (speed), than TITAN is for you.
This is very interesting, I'm looking forward to seeing what I can do with this in testing.

I’m not 100% sure this is the perfect thread for this but it relates to my growing interest in the Titan.

I was doing some speed work today and I noticed I could swing my TSR2 with the HZRDUS Green Hulk faster than I could swing the Cobra DS Max K with the HZRDUS Black. And the Cobra is actually an inch longer.

Would it be possible that the shaft profile of the Hulk could allow me to swing faster? Or do we think that might be more likely due to something with swingweight and/or the different heads? My stock TSR2 swing was coming up a good 3-4 mph faster on average than the Cobra which is not nothing.

First impression.. about 10 swings in. Stout but not harsh With some added flow.

It is a very pleasant feel. I believe from what I am seeing numbers wise. Getting more speed then the UST proto

You might be able to swing a shorter shaft with better sequencing and therefore more club speed.

Definitely could be swingweight too or clubhead aerodynamics.

I was seeing a lower flight (which I personally like. Helps me feel more control. I typically have a slight pull draw miss, but for some reason I was seeing more of a push draw and it was really nice to see.

The shots that were over drawn a bit didn’t get out of control.

Dons explanation of the feel of this shaft makes a lot of sense now that I’ve hit it.

Looking forward to this arriving, it will get some testing in the Elyte Midnight head against some similar shafts, then I may put an All Fit adapter on to test in the 859 head

Sunday delivery, nice way to end the weekend. The cross hatch design is really good. This going into the Elyte Midnight will look very slick

Settings all reset to Standard/Neutral and weight in Neutral port. Weather is perfect for getting to the range this week

A bit about me as we get started on testing this very slick looking shaft.

Currently GHIN handicap has me sitting at a reasonable 11.4 which has been dropping fairly steadily through last season. I can't play to that as anyone with a GHIN can attest but I am aiming to get that to a 10 or better this season.

Driver currently is the Callaway Elyte Night edition, 9.0* with Xcalibe Phoenix 4-TS 45gm shaft.

Using Arccos to track stats for the last season has helped with identifying where I'm gaining and losing strokes and interestingly my driving stats have seen a positive strokes gained for the last 25 rounds when compared with a +10 handicap.

Breaking down further to Distance vs Accuracy, penalties are my biggest loss of SG.

Finally, looking at accuracy I'm pleasantly surprised I'm accurate over 50% of the time, but aby chance to improve that can only mean good things for scoring.

Leveraging Arccos to ttrack stats will really help with testing this shaft, I am hoping that this design will help me turn the penalties and accuracy SG around.

Booked a new sim spot to get some LM data this afternoon.

Plan is to baseline with the Phoenix then see what the Titan will do.

Additional shafts to get All Fit adapters on them will be HZRDUS RDX Smoke Black 6.5, Blue 6.0 plus Phoenix 4-S.

This will let me bring in some other heads to test the Titan in as well.

Can’t wait to hear what you think!!

Graphics are subtle anyway so not bad

Grip is typical to what I use now so I like it.

I could use this out here today. Decent wind in Florida and that lower flight and spin I’m hoping to get out of the titan would be welcome.

Is it sitting on your porch? I can grab it and ship it to you
