I had asked for suggestions a few weeks ago about where to play while I was in the Great NorthWest. Had a few people mention that I should try out Pronghorn Resort in Bend, OR. My original plan was to play in Bend after the 7 1/2 hour drive to get down here from SandPoint, ID and then spend the night in Klamath Falls, OR and play Running Y Ranch, an Arnold Palmer design. However tee times were not going to be available at Running Y Ranch, so Bend is it
Pronghorn is a resort that host two championship courses, The Nicklaus Signature Course that is open to guests and the Tom Fazio designed course that is members only. Since I don’t have any clout, it would have to be the Nicklaus course, which was more than fine by me. I really enjoyed this course. Jack sometimes makes it rough on the average golfer with some of his course designs but I found Pronghorn to be very playable and pretty friendly. The course was in spectacular condition and the views were awesome. While the pace of play wasn’t the quickest, I didn’t mind as I planned on snapping a few pics to share anyways. If you find yourself in Bend, take the time to play Pronghorn. I can’t recommend it enough.
